  1. I also received an acceptance about 20 minutes ago. Good luck to everyone waiting! It's a relief finding out.
  2. Do we know if they're updating in alphabetical order?! Did any more people find out?
  3. this waiting game though...
  4. Who are you girls talking to? Could you provide the number you use, or are you using the regular admissions number? That's good news, at least we know we will be finding out soon :) thanks for sharing
  5. An advisor said it doesn't hurt to upload them, but she isn't sure if they will still look at them or not.
  6. Do any of you know if we should upgrade our final marks if we have received them?
  7. @alintapinta Sorry to hear about bcit, but good luck at the interview with UBC! It's a wonderful school!
  8. I will be doing it shortly! Haven't had the time to sit down and gather information yet. How did you find the questions to be? Any pointers?
  9. Thanks for answering. It's nice to hear they're not difficult. Hope to see you next term :-)
  10. Hi Cbrook, I think I read that you got accepted to BCIT! Congratulations! Do you mind sharing a bit of information on the additional questionnaire? Do you remember the types of questions they asked and is there anything we can do to prepare for them? Any information from anyone else would be welcomed as well!! Thanks everyone!
  11. Thank you for providing us with this information. It is probably the most detailed information we've received - I personally couldn't find anything more informative than this, found vague information. Leefion, did you find the questionnaire difficult? And did you end up using information from the CRNBC links as everyone else has mentioned? Also, have you already been accepted? If yes, congratulations! If not, maybe we'll all be lucky enough to enter the same classrooms!!
  12. Jcyw, Are you referring to the second pdf they attached - regarding the CRNBC links? "Reviewing the following sites will provide insight into the nursing profession, and assist with your understanding of the questions in the questionnaire. CRNBC Professional Nursing Standards: Professional Standards CRNBC New Graduate Competencies: https://www.crnbc.ca/Registration/Lists/RegistrationResources/375CompetenciesEntrylevelRN.pdf CRNBC Requisite Skills and Ability: https://www.crnbc.ca/Standards/Lists/StandardResources/464requisiteskillsabilities.pdf" I have read that from previous posts as well, I just was not sure this is what they were referring to though. P.S. Congratulations to you and Andrea (above comment) for both getting shortlisted. Would love if we could make it in. heheheheheh. Does anyone know if this part of the process is based on grades or has that part passed? Is this phase mainly based on the questionnaire?
  13. Has anyone been shortlisted? And has anyone written the questions before? Any advice on how to word the answers or examples of the type of questions they ask? Any advice would be appreciated!
  14. Congratulations jayjan! Does anyone know how many spots are still available?
  15. If you don't mind my asking, what is your top choice program?
  16. Hello all! This is my third time starting a forum (aka my third time applying to a program...). I am planning on applying to BCIT BSN for September 2015 intake. Applications have already opened, but I am still waiting on marks. In my case, I have everything but my grade 11 courses (ha). I am currently finishing up Chem 11 and Math 11 because I had a C+. ....I guess grade 11 really does matter. The deadline is April 1st. Here are the prerequisites as of January 2015: *note: all changes are in italics English: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country (previous requirement: B) Chemistry 11 (73%) (previous requirement C+) Math: one of the following: (previous requirement C+) Principles of Mathematics 11 (73%) or 12 (67%) or Applications of Mathematics 12 (73%) or Foundations of Mathematics 11 (73%) or 12 (73%) or Pre-Calculus 11 (73%) or 12 (67%) or MATH 0007 (73%) Academic Foundations requirement: Completion of 18.0 university credits with a minimum of (67%) in each of the following courses: ENGL 1177 Academic Writing or a first-year transferable English composition course* (3.0 credits) Anatomy & Physiology* - must have been completed within the past 3 years (6.0 credits) PSYC 1101 Introductory Psychology 1 or an equivalent Psychology course* (3.0 credits) General Education [PDF] electives at a 100 level minimum in at least 2 different academic disciplines (6.0 credits) Feel free to share your story or concerns. I've found it useful to have a forum open for people to discuss their concerns throughout the process. All the best to you!
  17. Hello all! I am planning on applying for UFV Nursing program and thought I should start a thread for everyone applying to get together and discuss any issues/concerns. I am not a straight A student, or a straight B. In fact, most of my marks consist of B's and C+'s unfortunately, but I still plan on applying after speaking to a counsellor at UFV. I have well over 150 hours of volunteering in two different hospitals and old-folk homes. I've volunteered at Children's Hospital for 8 months and RCH for the past year and a half (I love it!-- consider volunteering there, I've currently taken it upon myself to explore the hospital and all it has to offer. The opportunities for learning are endless and the staff is pretty wonderful). The old-folks home was with the Salvation Army, also a great place. I have most everything they ask for & more, but lack the straight A's that people in previous threads say they have applied with. Like anyone else in my position, the grades worry me. For some schools (ex, BCIT or UofC) , they only look at the last 30 credits for a GPA count. Does anyone know the process at UFV? I've applied at BCIT a couple of times and plan on doing so again, but thought I should broaden my horizon. BCIT has a fairly different system than UFV and it has been my target school for the past 1.5 years. Please share your own thoughts & concerns! :-) Let's build up our support system.
  18. I just got off the phone with program advising. The woman wasn't very helpful seeing as how I was referred to her to get answers and received none, regarding my application. I currently have 3 courses on the go that will not be finished until April 30th, approximately. Unfortunately, only one of these courses has midterms, the other two are only assignments and done through mail. My question was regarding the other two courses and how I should present that I am, in fact, taking them. That said, even without them, the application is fine. An admissions officer just suggested I somehow show them anyway, you know, "the more, the merrier!" I asked the program advisor why they extended the deadline and she replied saying that a lot of students are just writing their final exams and will not receive their marks by April 15th. Then again, she didn't know how to help with anything I asked... Just giving all of you an update.
  19. I did the exact same thing. I was told to upload my unofficial transcript in PDF form and that they shouldn't have a problem with that. When the time comes and you make it to the next level, you will have to hand in the official transcript and they will ask you for it. I think you can still hand in your application today! Right?
