  1. Plenty of time to take work shops and prepare! Are you going to any workshops ? I think when I get to that point im going to do Shari Taylor's in Atlanta ! Heard good things about it
  2. Sounds good, I'm still waiting on the preliminary report then I will start the nursing courses right away I will for sure let you know.
  3. Awesome when it is set up let me know you can send the username to [email protected].
  4. I'd be willing to skype too, waiting for my eval then I start core nursing classes if interested let me know !
  5. Hey we live pretty far but I'd be willing to study via Skype ?
  6. Caliotter3 is absolutely right you need to go to them and say hey, what is it that is wrong with my charting? You can't fix the problem if they don't point out exactly what is wrong.
  7. Great advice I can give is using short worded sentences and getting to the point with using as little unneeded words as possible. Also try and chart only the important things. When I started my job as a nurse I had issues with charting and they told me exactly what I told you and it has helped a lot. Don't over write and keep it simple. :-) hope I helped. Example: client a&o, denies pain and discomfort. Fasting blood suger within normal range. Etc
  8. Thanks :-) I'm excited for you, I will definitely email you !
  9. Exactly! You must think positive, this is self paced too so you can prepare for however long you want and make sure you are 100% on skills, assessments and documentation. It will take dedication and drive but if you really want it anything is possible. Keep in touch and let me know how you progress in the program, we can even bounce questions back and forth! I'm submitting my application in next week.
  10. The Actual book comes with a CD rom that has 200 question quizzes on it similar to the format on the Nclex. They're just practice questions though so if you have iPhone you could download nclex practice questions aps, which also helped me a lot.
  11. I used Pearson's exam cram study book for PN and passed my first attempt with it shutting off at 80 something questions, I read the entire exam cram book and memorized the exam cram sheet with all the lab values and drug therapeutic levels on it etc, it took me about 7 days to go through all the chapters and answer the practice questions at end of each section. The book also comes with a CD rom that prepares you for the nclex, I loved that book and it got me my PN license :-D !!
  12. Hello !! I'd like to let everyone know it will be a year in 2 months that I've been working at the assisted living facility mentioned earlier in this thread, I have learned that you cannot pre-pop meds or even take two people there meds at a time because it's against the law of medication administration and state would Be furious if they saw that. I now ID resident, pop meds then admin then document, one person at a time ! I'm working a unit with a smaller resident ratio it is on the memory care unit I absolutely love it. Thanks for everyone's advise it really helped.
  13. I live in buffalo, so I would be testing in Syracuse. Any obscene law suites heard from that neck of the woods? I see a lot of people saying the CPNE is about perfection but they are allowing you to fail an adult and a peds PCA, they're also allowing you to fail all the labs once to try a second attempt, this sounds very doable. The pass to fail ratio on there site for last year was 51% but I think that only counts for the first attempt. I messaged a couple people to tell me about there experiences but it seems like no one is getting back to me. Anyone know that website where you can read the "journals" of people who were successful :-)
  14. Yep, definitely those help!
  15. Also check out simplenursing.com it has simplified lectures on every topic you learned in nursing school and the teacher is funny and keeps you awake he definitely helped. Good luck! :-)
