Question for medical assistants
I am a medical assistant already I also am certified in phlebotomy and have been working as an MA in a family practice for almost 3 years. Unfortunately the office will be closing so I am job hunting. . Sad news and good news. I will miss those I have worked with a lot but I get to gain some new experience. I am considering getting my RN. But I am not sure yet. I am 21 years old so I know I have a lot more years of experience to get. I also wold be interested in surgical tech

Nurses selling at work?
A lady I work with was selling products at work through a catalog and was going on and on about how she needs to reach a certain amount of sales and was pressuring people. Let's just say I was the first person who purchased from her even though didn't have the money for it my loss is her gain. She asks drug reps, certain patients, and other employees to buy things.

Question for trauma icu nurses
It all sounds like something I would love to do and would work extremely hard for to always do my best for co workers, patients and myself. However I feel like I am not smart enough to go to the next step. Right now I am a national certified medical assistant, national certified phlebotomy technician and nurses aide in Ohio and just transferred that to PA. Even though I can obtain those is becoming an RN something I can do?

Question for trauma icu nurses
Nothing better than enjoying and loving your career even though there are hard times
-
Professionalism
I never make personal phone calls :) alot of others do.
-
Professionalism
I do all of that in the morning before first patient arrives re stocking exam rooms, vacuuming, checking expiration dates making sure my lab area is clean and etc. So I am doing all possible things before using my phone.
-
Professionalism
When patients are around my phone is away and I make sure its not in sight too
-
Professionalism
Right now I am working as a MA in a family practice and its a small office and one physician in the building so you can imagine we don't see a ton of patients at most 22 per day. When I finish rooming patients and waiting at my desk (all other tasks completed) I will text people. Other workers do it all day and one makes personal phone calls a lot each day. Would you say I am still being unprofessional even if others doing it? Does it look bad on me?

What is the average nurse's opinion on medical assistants
I am a ncma and I personally don't see how there's any reason to treat you differently, certified or not. Maybe they're threatened of the fact that you got the job with no experience or certification while maybe they struggled to get a job even though they are certified and feel more qualified. And truth is they are more qualified in the end. I would say keep working hard and do your best :)
