  1. I went to the library and checked out all of the review books. In each book they have a disc with review questions. Every night I would do close to 100 questions from each book to make sure I covered all the ways they would ask the questions. It will build your confidence as well. I passed my text the first time and got my results the next day. Good Luck
  2. crrez4 replied to PedsAtHeart's topic in LPN to RN
    What program are you using?
  3. I am still looking for something else, but I hurt myself being a NA in a hospital and did not want to work Med-Surg. I figured this opportunity would give me a foot on the door to a specialty area. They are considering me to work in another group home as well. I am home with a 2 year old so this gets me out of the house a little besides they are paying $25 ph. Do you think it is a waist of time?
  4. I am a new PN still studying for boards. I was hired to work in a girls group home as an LPN (they know have have not taken borads yet) It is only 3 hours per week. I don't know if there will be anyone to guide me through the first few days. There will only be 8 girls in this home setting, they are mostly abused (I can handle that). I am not sure if this is where I should be. HELP!:icon_roll
  5. I am 34 with 3 children and just finished the program. I will be hard, I hope you have a good family support system. This was the best experience I every had. You can do it! My advise is to start reading now!
  6. Just finished my program, best advise is to start reading now!
  7. good luck! i jusy finished my program in aug. my nest advise to you is to get you cluster and start reading.
  8. My moto is "No Nursing Student Should Pay For School!" I know you like working in the daycare but my advise to you is to work in that hospital as a CNA, they will pay. You may say you wan't to work in Peds, but until you do your clinical in Peds, don't be to sure. Lots of my fellow student wanted to work in particular department but changed their minds. Don't let something like you desires before the experience set you up for more hard work than is neccesary. Pediatrics is not going anywhere. :wink2:
  9. Thanks for the pick me ups! I hopped into class loaded with pain meds and took my midterm and final exam. I passed the class. They won't let me go to my pin ceremony because I have not completed my clinical hours. I managed to complete 24 hours of clinical before injuring myself. I't not right that they won't give me my oin. I bought it but they sayed they will hold on to it. Till when???
  10. As nursing student we are required to remember tons of material and values. I am a very good student and excell in clinical, but there are times I get confused on my lab values or other material we may have covered on lecture. That does not mean I should not be a nurse. I recognize my weaknesses and work on them. Does this student recognize her weaknesses? As nurses we should be working together. If you see a fellow student who needs help, why not try helping instead of criticizing? You are not yet a nurse and already you are behaving like some of the unsupportive nurses we talk about who don't help. We as nurses need to stick together to ensure the client get the best nusing care as possible.
  11. My husband and myself have struggled to get me through the PN program. My children have not received all of my attention for a year. I had several nevous breakdowns due to clinical scheduling and family responsibilities. Just when I see the light at the end of the tunnel, 3 weeks before the end of the program, I fall and break my rt. ankle requireing an ORIF of the ankle and 6 weeks in a cast. Thus, no graduation. The school and I worked out a probable solution, I stuggled to finish lecture, midterms and finials, all on pain meds. The RN program will start their maternity rotation on the 29th of Aug., I may be allowed to complete my clinical hours then. The only problem with this is my scheduling problems will drag on till October and my plan to start work and complete my scholarship employment terms are also pushed back. I'm sad, stressed, broke and angry I won't be able to graduate with my class who are some of the best people I have ever known! Can anyone help cheer me up?
  12. i don't know what position you are working in currently, but, see if there are any other positions within the hospital you can ransfer to teporarily in order to finish clinical. i had a problem with clinical hours and with the help of my family was able to get through it.
