    CNM vs CM?

Hello! I couldn't help but notice your pathway to becoming a CNM. I was just browsing old discussions and stumbled upon this one. I am a few posts away from PMing you otherwise I would have done so. My question/comment is a little off topic but I am currently in nursing school and have always envisioned myself on the pathway to becoming a CNM. I was wondering why you chose to pursue a CNM? I just thought that since there are no state restricitions and the option to work in a hospital is there with a CNM I would just do that. Upon more research and volunteering with a few CPMs I am second guessing the CNM route. Not much, just a little. I am curious as to what your two cents would be since you have both titles behind your name? Thank you so much! Robyn

    L & D experience and CNM -- opinions!

Hi there cayenne06... I find it very interesting that you have your CPM and are now working towards a CNM. Unfortunately I am a few posts away from being able to PM you otherwise I would have. I would love to discuss your roles as both a CPM and a CNM. I am currently in nursing school working towards an RN and eventually a CNM. I have been volunteering with a few CPMs in their home birth practice and I find myself questioning more and more whether I should continue to pursue a CNM or switch gears to a CPM. Initially I figured that a CNM would be the better choice because I have the option of working in a hospital, I am not limited to which states I can practice, and I am already in nursing school. But, beyond those few things I am not sure if the CNM route is still the best option. I am curious as to why you went back to school for a CNM? Thanks for any advice you can part with. If it is easier here is my email: rllee86@gmail.com

Thanks for that link. Any idea if the bundle was worth it or were you able to buy separately to save a little money?

Hello! Orientation is soon!... excited to meet everyone. Quick question regarding scrubs: are there other options besides the bookstore for scrubs? also I remember someone mentioned in another thread that we could get them embroidered inexpensively somewhere in town. Does anyone know where?

  9. Hello! I have thankfully been accepted to the ABSN programs at the University of Utah in SLC and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. It has been an arduous application process and a grueling waiting game for the results... and now they are in! I am at a loss as to which to choose. If there are any nursing students from either program that can give me some insight or advice that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your reply!
