  1. It's not who is smarter rather than whom is considered more of a professional. That's all.

I have 50 pts and tons of PRN's. Two med passes at that rate takes me all shift, short lunch, no breaks, and if i am lucky I get done 4 mins prior to end of shift.
  3. Great question! Its been looming in my mind too. Im one semester away from graduating and can say..... Is it too late to change to a different career? Ive been LPN for 8 yrs at LTC and can honestly say i dont want to be screamed at. Suggestions?.... Wisconsin....
  4. No NARCS! From a migraine suffer.....for a good deal of us it does cause refractory migraines that really are way worse than original. What would be nice from a holistic standpoint.... Lights dim, quiet environment, cold washcloths to neck, head and head/ hand massage as distractor would make you the superhero nurse!!
  5. I as well suffer and am medicated for the same attention disorder. It took me a long, brutal emotional roller coaster ride to see the light. The previous writer gave great advice, don't focus on quantitative but qualitative. What are your school's outcome criteria for the chapters? Try to stay on task of nursing process. Most of all, go get help at student support for disabilities to accommodate testing for you! It is a must. Good Luck! Oh, and I worked full time PLUS, raised my son during entire nursing school, being a single mother I had no choice.
  6. I have been a LPN for 8 yrs at my current position, which is working LTC for the State. I make base $19.05 plus shift differential of .45. It may seem attractive but when I get my check I make $12/hr when insurance, taxes, retirement, etc are taken. Mind you my patient load: 50. Yep, 50. My advice, if you find a place that you are happy with keep it, and pick up a side job for supplemental if you are monetary driven.
