Working As A Nurse In UK vs USA
I've been in this country for 14 years and salary remains low. Even if you move up a band 6 and above, salary remains low and expenses are getting higher. I am in process of my USA dream.

Should nurses be able to listen to music at work?
Well, I guess it doesn't matter. I feel relax and cool when music is on. Obviously, if the patient or relative does not like listening to then switch it off. ICU patient is sedated and they don't care, but there are studies that music stimulates patient and help in recovery.

Thank you @Rocknurse. I am also an ICU trained nurse, it is exactly what you said being autonomous based on your patient judgement. We are good with that! Well, I guess I have to adjust to new environment and system. Hopefully, it will be an easy adjustment. Hope it never be too late for my age. Hahaha!

UK nurse waiting for 10 years for USA
I don't know yet. OGP will find employer just yet till I got my priority dates??? Well, age group 40-45 years old. This American Dream!( i suppose some would like to say) always in my mind since I joined nursing way back school. UK is a beautiful country, lots of places to see and do. However, the main thing is the financial aspects and how NHS is ran by the country (which they are trying to ut down any expenses ). Economy is tight. Nurse salaries are frozen (Senior Band 5= gets only £28,450 per year?but expenses are getting more expensive. Hope that give you a bit of idea why nurses here thought of leaving nursing.
