  1. Practice exam question: A patient has rapid apical pulse, elevated BP, scattered rales, + 2JVD jugular vein distension, Pt may experience: A. Cramping, nausea, Disequilibrium syndrome B. Angina, hypotension, headache C. Fever itching and anaphylaxis D. Dyspnea hypotension and cramping I don't think answer is C because itchiness is common when pt's diet is off or the lines have not been sterilized/cleaned efficiently. What's the right answer?
  2. My class will have an internship soon but based on my lab performance (I'm a 7/10), I don't feel like I'm ready. Has anyone gone through an internship at a dialysis clinic? What was it like? Do you think I should accept the opportunity to intern or not?
  3. Do I need to put on gloves when I'm doing the following: Change bed sheets, Dressing pt, and Foot care? (I'm referring to the skills test.....not the real word) Also, did u manually raise the bed or did you use a remote control? My facility has a broken remote, so we have to turn the lever to move the bed higher/lower.
  4. I'm preparing for the CNA exam this month. I can follow the guidelines in the book or study the handout that was given in class but some points are not clear so i have to figure it out.
  5. Ok thx for the advice...However, my instructor taught me a different way....(1 side rail up when leaving the resident because 2 side rails up is considered a restraint).
  6. Would I need to raise both side rails up when I get my supplies or when I'm near the sink?
  7. I don't really see the logic in raising the bed when I'm emptying the urinary drainage bag, and if the bed is at the lowest position...why should I put 1 side rail up? As for brushing teeth, I can see why I should elevate the bed.
  8. For the Prometric clinical test: Should I perform these safety measures (raise the bed, raise 1 side rail, and lock the wheels) for the following procedures: emptying urinary drainage, denture care, and brushing real teeth?
  9. My concerta dosage was increased to 54mg. The higher dosage gets me through the day, and I feel more alert while I'm studying on my bed. Anyhoo, thx for all of your input.
  10. Thats interesting, cuz when I used to take Adderall I was the complete opposite. I was really energized and ready to do work (whatever it may be). When the drug wore off at the end of the day, I would feel a bad crash:headache, dizziness, crankiness, and sometimes tunnel vision.
  11. I'm unemployed at the moment and I'm studying for the CNA exam....
  12. I've been taking 10mg of lexapro and 36mg of generic concerta daily for my ADD. While I'm studying on my bed, I start to feel sleepy within 15-20 minutes. My sleeping schedule is usually is set at 2am for bed time and I wake up around 10am earlier that day. So why do I feel sleepy when I'm reading my book, if I'm getting enough rest? If I was given the opportunity to go to a music concert or museum, I would do that right now...lol
  13. For the Denture & Mouthcare skill, this is what we learned in class: I would ask the resident to remove their dentures and place it in the denture cup. Then I would ask the resident to rinse their mouth with a cup of water and spit it out on to an emesin basin. I would then apply toothpaste to the toothbrush or moisten a swab and ask the resident "Mrs.J", can you give yourself Mouthcare". However, according to the Prometric outline...it states that the resident is unable to do their mouthcare or clean their dentures on their own. What's wrong with this picture? I need help please?
