  1. I will also be commuting to school. Not quit 2 hours but about an hour and a half one way. I plan on purchasing a recorder and hopefully minimize study time by studying in the car. I decided to just make the distance because my school is in a rural location. Not a lot of opportunity for housing in this area and to be honest I love the convenience of where I live now. I'd rather commute than be 2 hours from my family. Please let me know how your commute treats you and good luck in school. :)
  2. Okay, so I was just accepted into the nursing program at my school. I, of course, had to take a drug test and have a background screening. I have nothing to worry about with either of these, but when it came time for my drug test I completely goofed. The lady administering this test told me at least 3 times to not run any water or flush. I guess after 20 some years of tradition, the first thing I did was pull up my pants and flush! She was incredibly understanding about the whole thing. She allowed me to purchase a bottled water and wait to try again. Of course, my results come back clear of everything but now my test has an alert for negative dilute. This test was pretty pricey. Anyone know if this happening and not being a big deal. I don't want to have to pay to retest.
  3. I'm not sure your exact location, but I used to live in the cartersville area and I went to both highlands and also Georgia northwestern technical college. I know both have accredited programs. Highlands program is in Rome, Georgia. And GNTC's program is in rock springs. I hope this helps and best of luck to you!
  4. I don't think I had but one on conversions and none on Roman numerals. A little late responding but I hope this helps.
  5. I used the McGraw hill for everything but anatomy. I used something similar for that section. And as far as the types of questions I would definitely say there was more physiology than basic anatomy! Most of them were easy though if you know the basics of each body system, you should be able to guess even if you're not sure.
  6. Yes I totally agree with what you said about the math part I didn't have any algebra problems but I did have a lot that were fill in the blank but I think I made a 92% over all A&p 88 Reading 90 Math 90 Grammar 94 I was so worried about the anatomy part and my advisor said I need to be in the 90's for every section but I don't think I'm going to re-take it for 2 points. Fingers crossed its good enough!! And good luck to whichever school you are applying to ?
  7. From what I remember there were a lot of fractions and ratios. There was no algebra but it was 55 questions and I had about 10 that were not multiple choice.
  8. Hi there, I'm actually applying to GNTC's ADN program for this coming fall and just got done taking my HESI I also will be living in cartersville. I have my fingers crossed I won't hear anything until June/July but the best of luck to you and how far along are you in your pre-requisites? and are you applying for fall 2014?
  9. Hi there I saw that you were scheduled to take your hesi today and I too took mine today. Just curious to see how you did and how you studied ?
  10. Just took my entrance exam today! This site helped me achieve my goal of passing the HESI a2 so I thought I would give back with my experience. This exam is very easy as long as you prepare yourself and not let yourself get overwhelmed! For the school I'm applying to I had to take the grammar, math, reading and a&p sections. My overall score was a 91.5% and I could not be more proud of myself!!! Study tips I would suggest would definitely be the evolve study guide 3rd edition and a supplement book for a&p. This was the only section I found the study guide to be too vague!! the best advise I received was to breath, and relax the day before the test. Go in confident and you can't fail! Good luck to all.
