  1. Wow! So many commuters!!! I decided to commute and I'm doing just fine! Besides my sleeping hours being a little thrown off, I am making it. I'll tell anybody if they are dedicated to it to do what's best for them. My parents have been a really big help and sometimes I can even practice my skills with my daughter. Now that I've been doing it... 4 hours everyday is nothing and I'm just as prepared as the other students in my class and will continually be financially afloat with all the help I'm getting back home! Best decision ever!
  2. It's a very rural area. All the apartments are filled. I checked in May... Not many renters either.
  3. As of right now, the area is rural. I looked and looked for an apartment. Until and opening comes up and a roommate I doubt I'll be down there. I'm confident though. Thanks for the advice everyone I'll be sure to post how it goes.
  4. I bought mine from Textbookrush.com because I like going back for referencing. They are cheaper when you can find them used, but they don't sell them at the list price.
  5. Wow! You said a hand full and your right. Time is very important, and I should expect the unexpected which will make it hard if I am 2 hours away. I think I worked out to where if I needed to stay a day or two, I could during the week. I have a Corolla, and it's very good on gas. The only reason I had even considered it. However, my financial aid does not allow me to pay for the cost of living by myself.
  6. Not that I know of, but I never thought about that. I'll be sure to network when I get to school.
  7. Thanks for the advice! I am motivated and excited to start!
  8. Thanks! People are saying that I am crazy for driving 4 hours and that it can't be done. I know it will work out though. I'm just afraid of not passing the first semester because I was doing too much. It is always good to go in with a plan though. I start in a couple of weeks.
  9. How many people will be commuting to their campus for school, and if so, for how long? I have went through my head a thousand times the best possible way to finish my 2nd BS. The circumstances just seem better for me to commute 260 miles 2-way for the start and finish of my BSN program. I just had a baby and all my support is at home. Since I graduated, the only thing I can take out is loans. Therefore, I would need to budget. I'm thinking about getting a tape recorder to utilize the time while driving. Any advice or suggestions?
  10. I hope you do too, fingers crossed.
  11. I haven't applied to that program. But I do know from experience that if you have an above average GPA and ACT score, you can expect to be in the competition. Sometimes people with lower GPAs and ACT scores get accepted though.
