I work in an acute long term hospital

So I was recently hired for a very large acute long term care facility. They hired me as a CNA and asked if I was continuing with school and I told them my plan was to complete my LVN and from there move on. They said they were supportive of this process. I want to believe them, especially since I start school in February. Have any of you gone through this process? Did your facility support your decision to continue your education? What should I expect as I begin this process? Thank you!

The pre LVN class starts in February and then if you get at least a C you start the actual program in the fall. So a year from may I'll be an LVN!!!

Last week I took the TEAS V and got 76% overall. Now I am waiting CRY ROP to schedule an interview for their January class. I got the first part of the Hacienda La Puente packet done. Now just waiting for my letters of recommendation to come in. They also have a homework packet that needs to be completed. They told me that would come today. They sent a page with their interview questions as well so you can prepare. This process of getting into LVN school has been long and I can't wait to finally start somewhere!

Hey did you take the TEAS V at CRY ROP yet?

I was told they went till the end of the month.

That's for El Monte right? The pre class? I was told the one for Hacienda La Puente wouldn't start until late October/early November.

I have been looking at several schools and I just can't see spending for the private schools. I haven't heard really anything about the school. But I personally feel better about ROP and community college programs. I haven't started studying for the TEAS V but that my plan starting tomorrow. Good luck and hopefully I'll see you there.

When did the pre-LVN class start at El Monte? Because they don't offer financial aid can you get a loan through someone like Sallie Mae or Wells Fargo? Good luck with your class! Were there prerequisites before the Pre-LVN class?

I am!!! I just signed up for the TEAS V for 10/30, had all my transcripts sent and getting all my other parts ready for the application. Are you nervous?

I applied to Rio Hondo for their LVN program for 2015. I was in their CNA, Home Health, and Acute Care class last year and in the spring. I've been working in Home Health as a CNA since January. I got Bs in Psychology, Anatomy and English. I really want to be in their program. It's my number one choice. Anyone else applying? Anyone know what my chances are of getting in? I'm so nervous. I've looked into so many programs around like Anaheim, Hacienda La Puente, CRY ROPs. Then Annenburg, ACC and North West College. I'm sorry if I am babbling. I would love to hear if anyone is applying to these schools if they have heard back. Does anyone know when letters go out from Rio Hondo?
