  1. I feel you, just move on & don't think about it too much, its OK to think about it to avoid repeating the same "mistake" if you will. just make sure to leave them a TERRIBLE review anywhere you get your hands on... also include all the names on your review to make other nurses aware! they cant report you to BON, pt wasn't harmed. It's just the "impression" of the son that your weren't gentle, plus his testimony IF goes anywhere is out the window the moment he recorded you without a consent! I'm not a lawyer but I know that much! I wouldnt worry about it, let them KISS your *** & grow some skin!
  2. Sorry for the LATE reply...I had no idea! How are you doing by the way? how is nursing treating you?:) I live in SW houston & I do have my ACLS. PALS, TNCC as you mentioned! I currently work in MS, so far its been 3 years since I first looked for a new job. Im ready to move to a new area....what area do you work now? I know you mentioned bentaub & MH ED as great places to get experience...Thank you, I will reply faster this time!
  3. WE all make stupid mistakes sometimes if we pay attention to what we say or do we would punish ourselves before we wait for others to do the job. my first advice is to keep in mind that its a painful feeling for ANY person to go through this, your not the only one! MANY others have done worse, remember you didn't kill any one! your not a bad nurse & this incident doesn't determine who you are.. its ok to feel bad about yourself, regret it & wish you never did that...because those are prerequisites to recovery & repentance and finally never doing it again because you know what its like! Remember the goal is to STOP this behavior from reoccurring...that's what the board wants to see... I say since its not a pattern for you & that its your first offense you CAN prove you are worth another chance! sorry to say it like that...but that's how the BON will look at you.. finally don't look for the BON, judge, or employer to have sympathy for you...stay strong! meanwhile find ANY job to pay your bills while you fight back! Good luck..
  4. Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it... I've definitely learned how important it is to talk about the reason why I left my last job. It's very important to not hide what happened but instead to show that I learned from it. And that's what I did, I finally got a job last July after many failed interviews. Thanks again!
  5. Agree! What is working in the community like? And What is EdD if you don't mind, thanks!
  6. Hey thanks for the posting! I didnt know its a nurse friendly hospital, thats great! I was offered a job there last month, I start in July! Glad to hear that:)
  7. I turned in my resignation letter after attending a ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS (RCA) where I was told I wasn't performing safely at my job. Although I took accountability for my actions & apologized. That didn't take me anywhere! I was told to meet the following week at HR..I knew I was getting terminated So I beat them to the punch & resigned effective same day! The problem now is every time I apply for a job they tend to call HR & find out I'm ineligible for rehire. I'm getting frustrated at this and wonder what can I do about this situation! any feedback I greatly appreciate it...
  8. Hello, thanks alot for sharing, I spoke with one of the charge nurses at the ED in bentaub yesterday and asked how can I have a better chance of applying for a position, she mentioned the same thing! Im wondering what you mean by the cover letter or resume, how do you think i need to critique it?
