  2. yes im in a 15 month lpn program. im 4 months in
  3. I always read the questions first to know what im looking for, then I skim, a lot of times in the tabe test it will have questions that say "in the first paragraph the author wrote"....." and actually quote what theyre looking for so it makes it a lot easier. don't try to spend a lot of time reading it, skim if at all possible, its honestly not a hard test at all. I made 12.9+ on every subject, I wasn't expecting to do that well, and I was able to finish in half the time allotted. it was a lot easier than I was preparing myself for
  4. wow what is wrong with yalls schools?! we never watch videos of skills, our teacher teaches it to us, then we do a skill lab as practice then we do skills check off. in class and again at clinicals. and if we have trouble with it we can ask for help after school or something. I suggest checking out youtube, youd be surprised how helpful the videos can be. just make sure to practice as much as you can, even if youre literally using a pillow as your patient and talking to the pillow and pretending, just anything to actually get some sort of hands on feel for it before hand
  5. I'm that nerdy kid who just has a thirst for knowledge, I love learning more, but only when it comes to nursing.. lol I hated highschool. Im looking for any reccomendations for any books or anything of that sort that could benefit me. I have a Kaplan nclex review book, tabers, mosbys drug book, a couple other drug books, and a nursing diagnosis book. Are there any others you can think of that would help me finish my nursing journey, anything to just give me extra information or help me study and prepare myself for the real world of nursing. Thanks!
  6. im not sure how your pharm works but for me it was pharm 1 is all math, all dosage calculations. so if you have been practicing those its a breeze. that's just basic math and memorizing a formula. then pharm 2 which I just started is the actual drugs. I would say get a drug book, and start getting familiar with drug classes, because there are so many drugs out there it can be overwhelming but if you can get familiar with what certain classes of drugs do or whats a common name for drugs of the same class for instance.. most meds ending in olol are beta blockers. meterpropolol labetolol ect then some benzos tend do have pam or zam like alprazolam clonazepam loprazalam ect
  7. this is my second time in school because last time I got into 2 really bad car accidents. where I was living is the middle of nowhere and the 2 cities closest to me are baton rouge (west of me) and Hammond (east of me) both are about 30 miles away. but when I went to the school in baton rouge the traffic was horrible, it would take me a minimum of 1.5 hours every morning. but now going to Hammond the drive was only 30 minutes because there is no traffic. and now I live in Hammond so it takes me about 5 minutes to get to school. I would have no problem driving an hour to aschool if I really liked the school and if it was just an hour away, but if that hour is because of traffic idk if I could handle that again. driving for 1 hour straight is completely different from sitting in dead traffic for an hour
  8. ive dropped twice. my first semester I got pregnant at thr end of the spring semester, I tried going back that august but they were really rude about it and basicly told me I was wasting my time and theirs so I walked away. I went back to a different school when my son was 6 months old, and had to start over because my credits didn't transfer. then 3 months in I got into 2 car accidents in 3 weeks and we only had a small amount of time we could miss in the entire 15 months and I had used 95% of it from the car wrecks. so I started over again this past November at a different school, at first its hard to get back into the idea of studying constantly, but being in school before definitely helped since I had to start completely over I felt it was kind of an advantage that I had that knowledge already
  9. why did u pay after you had taken the exam? here we have to pay before we can even take the exam
  10. yall are lucky that u got 5 weeks. I get 20 days... 60 clock hours. oh pharm to learn all that information. I have a test on my 3rd day of class
