  1. There is most definitely an easy answer to this! I just had patient with the same issue, it's very rewarding to do the research and find out for yourself! The internet is your friend!!
  2. I'm a first year, second semester student and the NCLEX book, actually, really help on my exams. There is way too much information being thrown at you, and the NCLEX books really help break up it all up. When you find you are sick of reading endless pages of information/notes, before an exam, get out the NCLEX book and study the topics that pertain to your exam. I use NCLEX made incredibly easy, also Saunders is a good one.
  3. At my school it's a 70 to pass. However, the NCLEX pass rate is 100% and only 15-20 students out of the original 48 actually make it to graduation.
  4. as a nurse, one of our most important roles is an educator. The one thing more important than treating a person's illness, is helping them prevent those problems, through education. This includes eating healthy, exercise, mental health, and if you wanna throw a few herbs in there, so be it. We don't want people to be sick, so we can get paid. We want them to be healthy and educated.
  5. people are so rude on here.
  6. I actually just read this chapter in my Pillitterri book! A dangerous side effect of Oxytocin is hyperstimulation of the uterus. Hyperstimulation of the uterus leads to fetal distress because the uterus does not have a chance to relax and deliver oxygen to the fetus. Pilliterri says, and I quote, "If signs of fetal distress occur (in this case, prolonged decels) stop the IV infusion and seek help immediately."
  7. Is that necessary? I mean, really..
  8. I am in the EXACT same boat as you! I guess, all we can do is take it day-by-day.. it's hard, I know. In the end all we can do is our best and the rest will fall into place.
  9. They are an accredited school. The NCLEX pass rates have been at 100% for at least the last five or six years. Everyone says they produce the BEST nurses, and I'm working really hard. I just want reassurance that I didn't make an impossible decision b choosing this school.
  10. I just started my second semester of nursing school at a community college. Usually every year 48 students get excepted into this program, however, of that 48 only 15 graduate. This school seems to pride itself in the amount of students they "kick out" each semester. Is this how all nursing schools are? should I consider a different school or stick with it? HELP!
