  1. I heard about GEPNs taking lots of spots, but I have no idea if that really happens!
  2. Also, the new grad program doesn't hire onto peds. Usually just neuro, ortho, cardio, medicine and surgery as far as I know.
  3. Hey! I applied last year to the pedi track. The interview was really general, why do you want to be an NP, what are your goals, what has prepared you etc. None of them were really difficult or critical thinking questions.
  4. I was accepted on 4/1 as well and turned down my spot for PNP I did a phone interview, not Skype, but it was pretty straightforward!
  5. Use critical thinking skills when dealing with an escalating pt like the above poster said. You want to use restraints as a last resort, but also need to maintain order and safety on the unit for all patients. If you don't restrain, the other patients could become frightened or possibly injured. That being said, you can't restrain a patient for any old reason, and you want to help that patient learn to manage their feelings without restraints being necessary.
  6. I applied to FNP
  7. They do update because mine now says decision letter mailed
  8. I haven't heard yet!
  9. I had my interview this morning. I thought it went well, but it'd hard to really tell on the phone, in my opinion. I also didn't think I would get this far because Yale is so selective and my GPA isn't great either. My interviewer said it may be up to a month until we hear!
  10. I have a lot of the same questions as the OP. I'm going to have to make some decisions soon and wonder how long after the interview Yale will get back to me. I applied for Pedi, so looking at the numbers it's going to be tough!
  11. Hi everyone, I was accepted to Columbia for the MPH portion, but now have to wait 3-4 weeks to hear from nursing! I wish I knew what my chances were. I am in the process of getting a new job that requires me to move 5/6 hours away, which is my back up plan if I don't get in, but I am worried the timing won't be right and I'll have to take the job before hearing back from nursing.
  12. Did they really tell you they have to recruit for regular MSN? I applied for regular MSN, already have my BSN, and I would love for that to be true, but I find it hard to believe!
  13. Does everyone else's application page still say they are waiting for 1 or more materials, even though they have all green checks?
  14. Hi everyone I work in a school setting, in a district with many school. There are 3 of us nurses, one being my boss. I have my own office at my own school. 1 or 2 times a week, my boss comes in early and uses my office for whatever reason. This morning, she confronted me about finding a cover letter saved to my computer. I was caught off guard, I didn't think anyone would go through the computer, so I just apologized and moved on. Now obviously its eating at me, and I don't know if I should follow up. I've been here for 7 months. I've applied to grad school and other jobs in hopes of a better salary/location. Do you all think I should follow up and say anything? Thanks!
  15. Did any of you end up applying/attending NYU for MSN? I applied in December and am waiting to hear back
