Opening a Residential Assisted Living
Hi! I am an RN and my mother a CNA. She approached me with idea of opening an ALF out of her home (3b/2bath). We live in Florida and from the area we live average went is around 2k-5k a room. She would care for the patient and I would be the administrator essentially. we would hire 1 CNA to care for the patient at night. Our goal would be to get licensed after obtaining 3 patients and then get a larger home and repeat. This seems like a no-brainer for nurses however i fear that this would business would take an immense amount of hours to manage and keep vacancy down. I do not have any reference for this business venture and hoping to hear some feedback on this journey Thank you

LPN- 3rd retake, should i take in another state
Hi! I am asking this for a friend who is an LPN graduate close too 10 years ago, she failed the NCLEX-PN twice in Florida and she thinks if she takes it again the third time she will have to do a remediation program and she does not want to do that She asked me if she went to another state (she brought up new mexico) she would be able to take it more than the 3 time that florida has before remediation. Does anyone have any information in that being a reality Thank you :)

New grad looking for ICU position
Thank you all for your input i have applied to several residency program and have an interview monday. It is extremely difficult to just be put into ICU the hospital would rather place you in a PACU/tele floor to get your skills up i am finding out. I would be willing to sacrifice an ICU position if i find a hospital that has a great reputation for training new graduate. For a list of residency program i found this website and it was extremely helpful to me http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/education/schools/school-of-nursing/students/resources/upload/Guide-to-Hospital-Nursing-Residency-and-New-Graduate-Programs-Updated-7-2014.pdf

New grad looking for ICU position
Hello everyone, I am a brand new ADN nurse that graduated in may and had an amazing time during my ICU rotation (polly the only place i felt like i belong doing nursing school) so I am commited to tackling the ICU beast but first i have to let them open up the door for me! >. With your help and wisdom, Does anyone know any active intership/residency program tailored for a new graduate wanting to focus ICU. I would prefer florida programs but beggars cant be chooser so i am willing to travel as well :) THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

ICU/ER Internship Opportunity in Florida?
Hi everyone! I am a current new graduate nurse of an ASN program ( will be starting my bsn program this august) and after passing the NCLEX a few days ago I would like to start looking for job opportunity around florida. I am interested in starting an internship or training program an in acute care setting preferable an ICU or ER unit. I have searched using indeed but so far have only found 4 programs to apply to. So my question is does anyone know of any hospital that are currently training new graduates for such specialty and currently hiring? Thank you :)

I am doing my last semester at Keiser Sarasota. All i can say is Study, Have a good relationship with your teachers and classmate, stay on top of financial aid!!!!!!! (cannot overstate this enough!), get a home health aid job (so you can study and make a bit money on the side) and get yourself an nclex study book.

Keiser spring 2014 nursing student
Hey guys been in the program for 2 month total shock to my system I'm usually an A student and things arnt going so seemingly had a c and b on my first test cause I was never use to testing like this look over nclex question and see the phrasings and see how they want you to think it's not like other test were you memorize and answer but my second one I got an a and a b so I'm improving in those 2 months I quit my job and ended a relationship it's a lot and keiser has a good rep in Sarasota so that's great last class has a 100% nclex passing grade which is almost to be expected cause the last semester uo have to turn in 3000 nclex questions my teas score where all low 90s you don't have to take them all at once so I did the readings together and the math and science together just study from the teas book from ati and you will pass don't over do it with other study material . also I have gotten and working on scholorship opp cause school is around 9k and pell grant isn't that helpful here maybe I get 2k of goverment assistance
