  1. My first job is at an SNF and I've been there for almost 6 months now, and it's awesome! Love the people I work with and take care of. I feel like a valued person and not just a number. I'm glad I'm here and not a hospital.
  2. Sometimes words are hard let alone cooking. Thankfully my awesome fiance cooks a lot of the time, she takes awesome care of me.
  3. This is the one I get the most.
  4. If I see one of my residents acting out of the ordinary for them or like LadyScrubs said I smell or see funky urine, boom it's UTI w/ C&S for them.
  5. I got my first nursing job at a Rehab and LTC facility. I've been there 3 months now and I love it. I love having the same patients and can provide continuity of care. I felt the same as a lot of my classmates in nursing school did, that LTC seems somehow not as glamorous or exciting as working in a hospital but I quickly changed my mind. I don't know if I could go back to a hospital now, I really do love taking care of my people. And as a pure bonus, they pay way better than the hospitals in my area do.
  6. That's it!!! Everyone's getting ABH gel!
  7. Something that's going to cause a lot of paperwork.
  8. Starting my preceptorship tomorrow in the ED. I'm so excited!
  9. I appreciate everyone's feedback so far.
  10. Thanks, I just received the contact info for my preceptor nurse so I'll be emailing them and introducing myself. i'm so excited!
  11. I appreciate the tips!
  12. I just found out that I got the preceptor spot that I wanted and I'll be in the ED starting in a few weeks. I'm so excited but I was wondering if there were any tips or good info that would help me. Any info would be much appreciated.
