  1. All I can say is that if it wasn't for the health care from the nurses and doctors from Doctors without Borders, I wouldn't have survived the refugee camps. The refugee camp that I grew up in had a high mortality rate before we were able to received help from the many nurses and doctors that volunteer to help. Apart from my husband, my friends were the first people to take me out for dinner when they found out I passed my CNA exam and now they are estatic that I will be starting nursing school soon. I am the only one of my friends majoring in nursing and they couldn't be more helpful and proud of my decision. You pick a noble profession and we all applaud you for your decision. Don't let anyone bring you down for a noble career. Keep looking foward and let go of those toxic people in your life.
  2. I agree with everyone! If I qualify for financial aid then give it to me. I hate when my school do buy back my textbook, but will only give me $20 for a book that I spent $90+ for and then sell the same book "used" for $85. NOT FAIR!
  3. I found some of the items at a drug store. I live in southern California and there are CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens in my area; all big name drug store and was able to find the supplies at resonable prices ($20 or less). Hope this helps, best of luck in your search.
  4. The program is very competitive. I had a friend that had to wait two years to get into the program. If you have an AS in nursing, then it's actually easier. Their BS nursing from an AS of nursing is not a competitive program. The school also states that if you don't get accepted into the program and you are transferring to CSULB, then you will not be accepted into the school. My reccomendation is to get your AS of nursing first, and then transferr to the school. If you're looking for a school in the area that has a nursing program, Golden West College has a AS of nurisng program, but is not as impacted as other schools in the area. Oh, Golden West is located in Orange County. Hope this information helps.
