  1. I would recommend their accelerated program. They base their decision off of a point system. I think the deadline is in December
  2. I want to thank everyone for their advice & tips :) I can't believe it's almost August ! :)
  3. How hard is the first semester of nursing school? I'm nervous and excited.
  4. I was accepted into Shady Grove
  5. Today I missed a call from the admissions office but my voicemail was full !!! I was so upset but two hours later my status finally changed to Provisional Admit :) (Shady Grove BSN program) I hope everyone receives good news soon :)
  6. michelle, I finally received confirmation for the Fall class on Monday . I hope you get the opportunity to start in the Fall as well. Good Luck :)
  7. queserasera: How did you find out you were accepted? I applied on August 31st and I still haven't heard back.
  8. Thanks, I will let you know if I hear anything Good luck to you too :)
  9. I applied last August but the spring semester was already full. I was told the fall 2014 class would be notified by email at the end of March or the beginning of April.
  10. I applied to both programs (traditional and the accelerated). For the traditional program I’m # 70 and for the accelerated program I’m #13. I live in Anne Arundel County so I wasn’t too surprised. I applied to several other schools but the accelerated program is my first choice.
  11. Wow that’s amazing!! Considering that I only had 8 points, I think it’s safe to say I didn't get in... …. HCC was my first choice but I live in Anne Arundel County so I wont be applying to their traditional program. I applied to Anne Arundel Community College in August, and most recently to the University of Maryland. Once again congratulations, and good luck next semester. :)
  12. I hope so :) my fingers are definitely crossed (If you don’t mind me asking) How many points did you have? I only had 8; I had three B’s and one A for my sciences which I think cost me a few points.
  13. I took A&P I over the summer and it was definitely time consuming. I attached three websites that were helpful for me. Good Luck :) Anatomy Bone Practical 1 flashcards | Quizlet Anatomy and Physiology Richland College Anatomy & Physiology
  14. Congratulations! I also applied to the accelerated program but I never heard back. I have a 3.5 gpa but I don't have a bachelor's degree so I knew my chances were slim. Good Luck :) : )
  15. Have you heard back from AACC ? I never heard back after I applied last August. If I don't get into UMSON Im also planning to use AACC as my backup.. hopefully they didn't lose my application
  16. Re: ratios .. It was really basic and strait forward ..
  17. The book really helped me with vocab & grammar the only word i remember not being in the book was hierarchy of needs Chemistry wasn't bad but I didn't do great.. Study the different type of solutions like emulsion and suspension.. I missed questions I never should of missed .. Biology: had random questions about Human DNA Viruses. Several human DNA viruses have been linked to cancer. The most compelling evidence implicates the following viruses: • Human papillomaviruses • Epstein-Barr virus • Hepatitis B virus • Human T-cell lymphoma/leukemia virus 1 .. A&P Study: the hormones, & the nerves Math: was the easiest STUDY RATIOS !! I felt like every other question was a ratio question Reading: was just time consuming make sure you read the entire passage before answering the questions
  18. I emailed the health professions office several times and it wasn’t until October that someone finally emailed me back. The email basically said if I wanted to be considered for the Fall 2014 class I would need to provide additional information to prove my AA Co residency. I was hoping to be on the waitlist for the Spring 2014 class but I never heard back. I’m planning to email the health professions office this week to check the status of my application.
  19. I never heard back after I applied last August. I have a 3.5 gpa and I was really disappointed that grades were no longer a factor. I asked my advisor why the nursing school had lowered their academic standards and she said that the students with lower gpa's were more successful in nursing school. I wish the nursing schools at Georgetown and the University of Maryland believed that.
  20. HCC awards 5 points just for having a Bachelors degree. Therefore, it's nearly impossible to get into their accelerated program without one.
  21. I don't know what it is but I am really struggling with chemistry. I studied hard for the first test and I got a 63. I studied even harder for the second one, but I still don't think I did that good. So far both tests have been 6 pages long with a large percent focused on calculations. The first test had more multiple choice questions then the most recent one. I am honestly embarrassed at the amount of the time I put into this class and I don't think I did very well on the last test. The calculations problems were worth 5 points each, and your score relies heavily on the discretion of the professor. There were a few calculation questions on the first test where I felt like I deserved at least 2 points out of the five. How is everyone else doing chemistry?
  22. thanks:)
  23. thanks :)
  24. Are UMBC pre nursing students given priority over other applicants?
