  1. I'm in block 1 at MCC right now. For the first 8 weeks my schedule was : m/t 8a-1030a lecture. M/t 12p-3p lab. We'd 730a-3pm lab. In week 9, clinical rotation starts and the lab sessions drop off. So now my schedule is m/t 8a-1030 am. Then th/f 630am-230am clinicals. Clinicals are 2 days a week and some are w/f, some are th/f. Not sure if they keep that for spring though for block 1
  2. I scrolled a few pages, didn't see this...sorry if it's a repeat. I'm loading up my amazon cart with my text books, thought I'd better get a NCLEX study guide too. Which do you recommend?
  3. 36yo, married mom of 3 (13, 10, 7) here. Although in my program, us "non traditional " students are the majority
  4. I bought the Littmann lightweight to save money, and I regret it. I have a Cardiology on order. Most of the people in my classes have the classic II or the Cardiology III
  5. Maybe that's where I'm confused, it's the terminology. Treatment plan makes more sense to me
  6. I just saw a Passion Planner on Pinterest and it sparked my interest
  7. Mesa Community College...Arizona
  8. Thank you for the replies! So much more helpful than my fellow clueless classmates and my distant instructor! I've ordered a Nursing Diagnosis book, thanks for the suggestion!
  9. It is! When I read it in the welcome packet, it took my breath away. I'm not so hot on ebooks either, so I am not really excited about it
  10. I lost points on a Case Study assignment because I gave a medical diagnosis instead of a nursing diagnosis. When I asked for clarification, I was directed to the syllabus...which was no help. This is an online "fundamentals" class. The lab component (taught by a different teacher) is teaching the assessment skills (vitals, etc). So my question here is: What's the difference in the diagnosis terms? and This is my first nursing class ever. 4 weeks ago, I learned how to take BP....should I be making any sort of diagnosis at all?
  11. I'm required to purchase a $190 Skyscape App for my digital device, 2 new edition books with access for close to $300 and a....wait for it...$750 Software package from ATI (that apparently includes books we'll use for all 4 blocks). I'm having a panic attack.
  12. MCC/NAU class of 2017 here! :)
  13. This thread has been very helpful! Thank you!
  14. I'm required to wear the uniform (scrubs) on all lab and clinical days. They said we don't have to wear our uniform to lecture. WELL...my schedule for fall semester has lecture from 8-10am and lab from 1030a-3pm. I don't see changing from regular clothes to scrubs between classes....so looks like I'll be in scrubs all day
  15. I've been renting from Amazon for several semesters. They've been consistently cheaper than other places
