Sam Houston State University Fall 2014 BSN
I called again today and talked to **** about everything. I told her what **** said and she said that **** does not decide who gets in it is ****, and two others (forgot names one was another dr) And GPA is 45 points, TEAS 35, also there are only 150 applicants not 300. It's hard to know what to believe though when we keep getting different stories lol

Sam Houston State University Fall 2014 BSN
I have talked to a few women in the nursing department and it seems they are confused I keep getting different stories!! lol I am being told teas is 35 points gpa is 45 points then you get 10 points for 24 hours at shsu and 10 points if you have a degree already. They send acceptance letters to 55 but usually 10-15 decline. They also use overall gpa to calculate your points not science.

turner told me a 3.3 is considered competitive but it can also vary each semester so it's not easy to say. It does look like we have both high gpas though ! lol

I was also told that they do everything based on a 100 point scale. 65% is weighted on GPA while 35% is on TEAS. They also add 10 points to those who have 36 or more hours of pre nursing curriculum taken at shsu

I am also applying for the Spring 2014 term. I made a 69.3% on the teas which I am not excited about lol My science gpa is a 3.59 and overall for pre-reqs is a 3.44. Dr. Turner told me that a 3.3 is considered competitive so we shall see!
