communication techniques?
I work in a high functioning psych facility where basically everyone is schizophrenic or schizophrenic affective/depressed. I understand communication technique isn't a one size fit all but are there any "real live" tips. I know you arn't suppose to play into their delusions and give back answers that redirect them or bring them back into reality; but when you have a guy who is responding to AH commands and not eating and the only way is to play into their delusions... then what? Like sometimes they would be AOx4, super high functioning then a day later we have to 5150 someone and send them to a higher care facility :l

Unitek or carrington??? Need help
speaking in norcal in my cohort we have people transferring from unitek, carrington, etc and speaking to other students in clinical rotation from different schools also.... it seems all one year vocational private schools are highly unorganized, esp the one I'm in. You may think "oh its not that bad" but man its horrible that people from unitek and carrington transfer over hoping it wouldn't be as horrible or unorganized as their first option school. Would anyone recommend going to a school like this? NO! but would i choose it all over again? YES! Because its honestly what you make of it, and all you need is a license and the ability to network.

I'm terrible at Ap
alot of complaints of A&P in my nursing class and trust me when clinicals come sure you can "get by" once more. Your losing knowledge day by day, be on top of your game. There was a guy in my class 2nd semester in that still don't know how to count costal cartilages, now imagine all the other stuff he's missing out on.

Help with choosing what to do....
im going to finish my LVN and pursue my LVN-BSN afterwards. Depends what your doing it for, if its more money than stick with surgical tech not because the pay is higher but because its a longs way and no point in starting over. If nursing is a passion do it, everytime you struggle with A&P just remember NO ONE IS BORN TO BE NATURALLY GOOD AT A&P. We are all struggling with you

Need help learning A&P
your lucky.... we get 4 A&P test. CHP 1-7. 16-24, then 8-15 then the final in one and half month. What i do is that i just learn how everything works. For example how the muscle contracts. Learn all the steps and definition associated with it, don't know what ACH or SA means well look it up then afterworks learn the definition. As long as I know 70% of the material I can kinda guess the other 30% on a test.

handling all the drama...
95% of the class are females, and first semester is just about to finish in one week but i went to a nice, gentle, and patience male to this aggravated, short tempered male. I never thought i would snap and cuss out a couple of students. For students that are in there 25-35 to act immature makes me want to strangle them -_- the estrogen build up seems like too much

underachieving students...
some people in my class are just not getting the subject/topic etc. I want to help but i can't. I hate doing study sessions because I can get things more by myself, but i don't want to seem like an ass rejecting them. I have things to concentrate on myself also. Should i not care? After all it is a competition, we're all looking for jobs after graduation.

Negativity around private for profit nursing schools
Well I was just going to pay the 6k in cash. This was actually the cheapest one I could find in sacramento the rest were 3-4k more expensive haha but besides the money... The education is worth it right?

Negativity around private for profit nursing schools
Program is 29k... After financial aid and grants I would only be paying 6k for a 12 month program.

I got to school and still have to manage working 18-25 hours a week. I feel like there isn't enough time in the world to study, even studying on my breaks cutting out friends, going out etc. How do you guys budget out your time wisely and get studying in?
