  1. Hi! I read your post and I just had to comment - First, {{HUGS}} and congratulations on making the decision to take care of yourself! Anything that costs you your peace of mind and health is simply not worth it. My path to nursing ended after just 2 clinicals in my first MONTH of nursing school. All the stress and crappy treatment you described, I saw it right away. I could see the uphill battle ahead - the nurse who TRULY cares and TRULY wants to do the right thing and is a TRUE advocate for her PT vs. management - lawsuits - politics - cover your ass mentality - laziness - short staff - budgets - quantity vs quality - all that mess! No thanks - my intuition said get out and I did. So good for you. You will do well in whatever endeavor you choose next. You have heart, pride, ethics and tenacity. Any stage would be happy to have you. Best of luck!!
  2. i don't have a FB page ....
  3. so ... I have a question ... i got my titers done and my HSAB? or Hep B whatever is low... so should I post my low results to certified profile or go get a shot and then post the shot?
  4. Hi FLRNSTUDENT ! No, unfortunately EFSC does not have either. UCF has both tho - UCF has a campus in Orlando and a branch campus on EFSC in Cocoa.
  5. thanks for the advice smalltownhero!! congratulations Connie & slauren13!! i'm excited to meet everyone at orientation too!!
  6. Thanks smalltownhero! Congrats everyone! Hi Katie - nice to meet you, my name is Crystal. Unfortunately I don't have a facebook account. I turned in my paperwork and I have signed up for my Certified Profile account online. I doubt I would ever find my vaccine records so I'm just going to get the titers. I went to Amazon and added all of the books to my cart just to see the total - it's almost $800! I really need to start researching scholarships, grants and loans. Anyone have any advice??
  7. Hi everyone!! I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER TODAY for the EFSC ADN program in Cocoa that starts August 2015 !!!! YAAAAYY!! Anyone else get in or waiting to hear?!! Good luck!!
  8. Thank you everyone for your replies! : )
  9. Hello everyone! This is my first thread question topic post yay I'll make this quick and to the point. I have finished all my pre-reqs and I am eligible and good to go for applying to both programs. I want to go to UCF BSN program in Cocoa that starts in Jan 2016, but it's very competitive and I don't know if I'd get in. I am almost certain I'll be able to get in to the EFSC ASN program in Cocoa that starts in Aug 2015. Would I be a horrible person if I got accepted into EFSC and then still applied for UCF and if I got into UCF - quit EFSC and join the UCF program? Has this ever been done? I seriously doubt I would do such a thing, but I am just curious... what do you all think? Thanks!
  10. Yay!! Today I took my FL CNA exam and passed !! Woo hoo ! :)
  11. I talked to Prometric today, I offered to give them my application ID number and they asked, does it start with 2 zeroes? I said no, it starts with 4 zeroes. He said well I won't be able to look up any thing with that type of number. So he tried looking up with my social, that didn't work. Then my name and date of birth. Still nothing. So he said (paraphrase) we don't have it, submit a new application. Ok, no problem. I get home, submit a new app... still no receipt of application email!! and now I have a 2 application ID numbers! So... I am confused. Why would an emailed application receipt take any longer than 10 minutes? I could see them reviewing my application for 2 weeks to decide if they need more info / fingerprint stuff..... but I would think the application receipt would be pretty instant. Now let's say for some reason an emailed applicant receipt DOES take 2 weeks... will my card be charged twice? It would be no problem if I have given them a credit card but I used my debit card. Sigh. Any advice/suggestions/similar experiences out there?
  12. I am wondering the same thing about Prometric. I submitted my application online yesterday and I have not received a receipt of application email yet. When I log in it says "status - submitted" but that is just the log in for the online application part. I can't log in to any other part of the website because it requires a Prometric ID number and I don't have that yet. I am assuming the Prometric ID number would come with the receipt of application email. Also, I don't have any pending charges to my credit card that I gave on the application to pay for the test. I am also wondering about it said in the brochure that one day an admission letter / email? just shows up with the date and time of your test. I wonder how much notice there will be because I'll have to request off work. Is there a way to let Prometric know my preference? I mean what if the admission letter finally comes and that date is not good for me? I know there is a $30 reschedule fee but I would think a lot of hassle could be avoided by letting the applicant pick the test date. I never attended any CNA course and I am planning to challenge the exam. My friend just got her CNA and she is so mad she wasted her time and money on a CNA course because she learned more from youtube than what was taught in the class.
  13. eep!! I just submitted my online application on the Prometric site to challenge the FL CNA exam!! i better start studying!!
  14. Thanks for the tips! :) I am in Florida too and I have watched a few of the videos from 4yourCNA. I am excited to get the ball rolling on this. My friend just got her CNA and she could not be more adamant about how I need to save my money and time and just challenge the test.
  15. Congratulations!! So you challenged the exam? Can you tell me what you did to study? I plan to challenge the exam too - I am researching the Prometric site right now. Thanks!!
