Has anyone taken statistics online?
I also took stats online. If you do well with teaching yourself, you can do it! I recommend using YouTube to learn how to properly use the calculator, it makes all the difference and cuts the time spent doing the work tremendously!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I know for sure there are 3 of us that have declined our spots, and they have known this for a while. They just don't have their crap together over there!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Ummm...wth...these people have some serious nerve! First of all, they said they would send the info to the delta student email. I have nothing in my email. I would have never known it was posted to the 'status' page if it weren't for AN. Second of all...wth...it is summer, people go on vacation, a little advance notice of due dates goes a long way. Things are due the 3rd, the 8th, the 13th. These dates cannot be correct! I am extremely grateful that I got into another program. I will not be choosing Delta and I wish you all the best of luck with this program. I hope sooner rather than later they get their act together over there!

How did you get an A in anatomy?
My study strategies always depend on the instructor and how they approach both teaching and testing, I adjust accordingly. With Anatomy, I never read my textbook once. I only studied the powerpoints for Lecture. For lab we did have a lab manual that was helpful but I utilized the study/tutoring center. I would go in and review slides of tissue types, cells, and whatever else I could. I would also study the bones and muscles in there before an exam. You can google images of whatever you are studying and print those out and test yourself by labeling the different bones, nerves, muscles, etc... NEVER, EVER miss a class, it's like missing a week of a normal semester. Your life will be kinda chaotic but you can push through, the time flies by! Edited to add...use your own body while memorizing things, if you get stuck on the test you can use your own body to jog your memory!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I was accepted but I was also accepted into CSU Stanislaus. I had 81 or 83 points, i don't remember. I wrote it somewhere in this thread early on but I don't feel like searching through all those pages to find it [emoji6]...Good Luck to all of you who got in and those on the waitlist!

Being an alternate/declining admission to Stanislaus 2016? I need suggestions!
I think I understand what you are confused about. There is admission to the university itself, and then there is admission to the school of nursing. You were accepted to the university but you are an alternate with the school of nursing. The intent to enroll for the university along with the deposit is due by May 1st. Unfortunately, people on the alternate list with the SON can be called up to the night before the fall semester starts, so you do have to take into consideration where you are at on that list and what the prior years statistics are for alternates getting in. I can't tell you what choice to make but I do suggest that you look into all the different options and routes to becoming a RN. This program is not the only program! I hope that helped!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
No, I have not received a confirmation email about the teas yet either!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Wow...don't even get me started on the 'counselors'...smh. I already knew going into this process to have ZERO expectations on any timely follow through on their part! I was given plenty of warnings from others in the program and yet I still get surprised by some of their actions or should I say inactions!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Faith2rn...did you ever get a confirmation email about your TEAS?
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I sent them the night of the 18th but because ATI is in a different time zone, my email from them says the 19th.
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I think that's a good idea. Deltas email system us been down over the past few days so I am sure they are behind on sending those emails out. I have not received my email yet either so don't worry!
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
After you sent your results, ATI should have emailed you a confirmation stating that your TEAS results were sent to Delta and it would have had the date and time. Did you receive that email?

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Hi Faith2rn, welcome to the thread! The health science Dept is very behind so I am sure that you will receive your confirmation email shortly. You will quickly learn that delta is not very well organized[emoji30]

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I would email them to be absolutely sure. They disqualify applicants for the smallest of details (social security card not signed). I wouldn't take the chance without getting a direct answer from them; that way if something happens, you will have the emailed response as proof!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
With Delta it is hard to tell where the true point cutoff was for prior semesters because there is no way to tell who got in through the lottery. With your points you have a good chance of getting in. Even if you do make the alternates list, do not be discouraged, with your points you will probably be in the top 10. For the fall semester, a lot of people decline their spots for other programs and the top 10 from the alternates list will most likely be admitted to the program. Good luck!

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
A lot of schools do things this way. For example, Sac State takes the top 150 applicants based on self reported information. Those top 150 then have all of their information verified and are chosen based off of their points. The top 80 make it into the program and the rest are placed on the alternates list. I hope this clarifies things for you!
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Yes, you are correct. Delta is based off of points and 10% lottery. After documentation is submitted and the points are calculated they will pick the top 30 based on points and the other 10% by lottery. When you are asked to submit the documentation, the administration has not yet verified any of your self reported information. During this time, there will be several people who will be disqualified for reporting things that the nursing program finds to be false or they decide points will not be awarded for that particular area. I have seen several people submit documentation and end up number #30 on the alternate list.
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
No it does not. They have about 30 positions and there are probably over a hundred applicants that met the minimum requirements. Some people will be selected, some people will be on the alternates list. What are your points?
-
SJDC ADN FALL 2016
I believe you have a couple of weeks to get in your supporting documentation. Being invited to submit documentation does not mean you have a spot in the program, it means that based on the self-reported information you met their minimum requirements for the program.

SJDC ADN FALL 2016
Hahaha!!![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]...I wasn't surprised either! I feel indifferent about this whole situation now smh! This is supposed to be an exciting time and I kinda feel robbed of that due to their complete lack of organization among other things!

CSU Nursing School Hopeful
Since you put an exclamation point, I am assuming you were accepted?!? Stan has a great program and an excellent NCLEX pass rate. Their cohort size is only 30 people allowing for great relationships between the instructors and the nursing students. I know Sac has the highest NCLEX pass rate at about 97% then Stan, then CSULA, then CSULB, and then SD. I think I got all the schools you applied to in there! Really, any program you choose will be great! Thanks for keeping me updated and let me know what you decide!

I've been selected as an alternate at CSU Stanislaus for Fall 2016?
Well, if you are interested in an ADN program Modesto Junior College application opens in May. They will choose the both the fall '16 cohort and the spring '17 cohort during that application time period.
