You are that patients assigned nurse, charge nurse or not I would have called the MD as soon as I took the assignment. Since when is it a charge nurses decision, that is up to the MD. Poor decision if you ask me, Yes, I am a charge RN. You know what hits the fan when things happen... it's not the charge that takes the hit.. it's YOU, the assigned nurse !! CYA !!!

It's been over a month and no one has posted on their progress. Any updates? There are quite a few lurkers out here that actually praise you for what you all are trying to accomplish. Have any of you heard back from the media, courts, NLRB or ? (Fingers Crossed !!) Thanks.

Sorry but I left Med Surg to do ICU/CCU primary care due to CNA's with bad attitudes. They would berate you if you did not speak spanish or understand their accent the first time they spoke. I was told I should speak Spanish because I live in California....what?:chuckle

TwoTrees2 is pretty right on with that list. I've got 5-6 years left and looking for another line of work to do when I retire from nursing. CNA does NOT represnt the nurse, it supports the hospital because without the hospital they can't generate $$$$. Do you know how much the Ann DeMoro makes, the head of CNA about 200K a year, the union reps about 98K.

We arent' allowed to ask, some nurses in our unit had told one pts family differing reasons and so it made the Doc mad and so now the buden if off us. The sad thing is sometimes the Doc doesn't get there soon enough and the pt is vented and then the family decides they didn't want it if they knew what was going to happen--so now we can blame the doc's for their own baloney instead of having the hospital make a policy on what we can or can't say....

That seems pretty steep for LPN school. why don't you just go to a junior college? San Leandro, are you familiar with it? Ick is all I can say. Do some more research and good luck.
