packing wound not healing. Advise?
Long story short I just took over a tx position and am feeling the pressure because the prior nurse "made the measurements look good" and my (honest and verified) measurements were "off" so im now im looking for new tx options to heal up the. I have a pt who's packing wound is expanding, using iodoform. Wound md consults but seems to not be bothered that tx ordered months ago is obviously not working. Please help with suggestions, Good wound care books, Sites, etc. Thanks

There a lot of problems where I work, the worst lately being the heater. The heater has not worked for the past couple of days and it gets to 68º and its around 42º outside. There solution is 3 small heaters in rotation placed in rooms for 30min at a time, that's not even long enough to heat the room up! I feel so bad for the pts and think state should be called....anyone ever called state on a place they were currently working for? What happened? Any repercussions?- legalities in giving a med
I do pick my battles and any situation that can put my license at risk is a battle worth fighting. Being an LVN is how I provide for my son! I won't let a facility take that away from me, having me give meds that are not ordered. It was no big deal for me to call the dr and get an order. I just wanted confirmation i was right.- new to addiction
Thank you ! :)- new to addiction

Hey everyone! I got an awesome opportunity to interview for a lvn position in a recovery center. I'm feeling scared because I don't know much about addiction medicine. Any good websites? Or books? List of addiction meds? Some of the do's and don'ts would be appreciated. Any tips on how to get the job. Thanks- At a cross roads and really need some advice...
Don't be scared of debt. Most ppl die with debt. Find a good life insurance policy.- At a cross roads and really need some advice...
Option 2 & 3 seen the same.... 2, 500 a month to live on is enought for this LVN for now. Why can u not work as a and be a student?- Military Nurse

Thank u both for the answer. I brought up my concerns with admin and my DON states she talked to the pharm and its ok and ty pm is on the way. Its hard working in a cheap facility U are both right and there should be an order from pharm for therapeutic interchange before giving the ty and benadryl.- legalities in giving a med
Ok so my pt has an order for ty pm but we ran out on house supply and the facility has yet to get some because there cheap. They wrote in the nurses communication book to give 2tabs es ty with 1benadryl. Is this legal? It the same ingredients as ty pm (aside from that one med is diphenhydramine hcl and the other has no hcl and idk if that makes a difference) but I feel uncomfortable giving it because its not what's stated is orderd. Should I get the dr to change order to 2ty and 1 benadryl so I can say I'm giving what's ordered?- Advice on dealing with CNS that think your better then them...
Thanks for the reply. I talked to her and stated I did not have a issue with her and we neex to be professional at work. I don't want to report her to the dsd because I don't think anything will be done and then she will know I reported her and I'm fearful that will make things worse.- Med Surg or OR
OR! How cool is that. I don't feel u would hinder yourself u can always do med surg later.- Advice on dealing with CNS that think your better then them...
I started as a CNA (now a new grad LVN) and was very sad to hear the CNAs gossiping that I think I'm better them them. I help out as much as I can. It is steming from a a CNA telling me a resident needed a nurse so when I came to help she said something like, where are my CNAs at and I politely said "u said pt needed a nurse so I came, I don't mind putting her on the toilet anyways" now that CNA is telling others I think I'm better then them and tonight walked right past me banging on the locked door to get into the facility. What do I do?- help!
Wrong feeding for my gtube pt was hung by prior shift. I stopped the feeding when I realised and took BS since pt is diabetic. What to do now?... - calling state/ ombudsmen on a place you work for...
