Help me figure out fair pay rate
Hello! I applied and am continuing the interview process at an endo center near me. Appears to be a great place to work with lots of support. Half md owned, half hospital owned. They state the starting pay is $30/hr. No call, no weekends, no holidays Out no later than 5:30pm every day. As a Bedside RN down the road in PACU I made $37 and change and I was close to the top of the pay scale. I have my BSN and I’ve been a nurse for 17 years. ICU, PACU, GI lab. Have been traveling the last year and I made triple that amount. What is a fair asking wage at this type of facility? What is shameful is I have also been bartending and bussing tables at my husband’s restaurant and I average $50/hr. $130/ hr last night ??♀️

Facility leaves J loop open to air
Please help me. I've been a nurse for too long. I have never seen this and need direction to basic research regarding this. I think I'm having so much trouble finding ANYTHING is because this is unheard of. I can't say too much about the facility but they do procedures under local anesthesia and we place IV's just in case. They place the IV, J-loop, then close the locking mechanism and the end is just open. There is no cap on the end. Is this acceptable by any stretch of the imagination? I say hell to the no.

Phyllodes Tumor
Hello! Iï¸ am a nurse that doesn't venture into this forum. My home is in the PACU. My best friend, (also a nurse), just got diagnosed with this cancer. Iï¸ understand it is approx 4+ cm already. Everything I'm reading says it is very rare, usually requires lumpectomy or mastectomy and sometimes radiation. It looks that these tumors are very unpredictable, but the prognosis looks good. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of anything else we can look into, experiences, etc ? We're having trouble finding specialists.

Just looking for comfort
I remember 2 things only from that day. Using sign language for the word 'more' when they took out my IV. I couldn't open my eyes, but I knew I wanted the good stuff to last longer. Vaguely remember my husband getting out of the car to go into the drugstore on our way home for my scripts. I stayed sleeping in the car. That's it. Great day.
