Patients Say the Darnedest Things - WIN $250! Nurses Week Contest 2018
Walked into my patient's room as the hospitalist was discussing code status and asking the patient, "If you were to get worse, would you want us to try to resuscitate you?" Patient's reply: "Yes, but gently."

How old were you when you started Nursing School?
I'm finishing my last 2 pre-reqs and (knock on wood) starting nursing program in January. I'm 38, and sometimes feel a lot older than my classmates, but when I think that I will be working for at least another 20 years, I don't want to waste those years in a crap job wishing I was following my dream.

Mizmaverick - The other factor no one has mentioned is your ability to learn and retain info. You will have to resign yourself to studying being your hobby for the semester, but if you can memorize and retain info pretty well, you might be able to pull it off. That said, I would probably limit myself to 2 sciences at a time because they tend to be more demanding in terms of time requirements (in class and out of it).

Danad - You should be fine combining nutrition with another harder class. I also took nutrition online and it was pretty easy, a lot of common sense/common knowledge, and didn't require hours of work. Lifespan development was the same. I'm taking stats this fall, but I've talked to a lot of people and the general consensus is 1) get a good calculator; and 2) as long as you're pretty good with math you'll be fine. I don't know about the time commitment, however. Good luck with your classes!
