  1. HI all, I am a new grad and am starting my career as an RN in just 2 weeks time! I am scheduled to work in the Intermediate care unit, and have no idea what to expect. I am so nervous. Can anyone give me any pointers? I know to ask questions (that wont be a problem, I ask probably wayy to many). Any advice or comments would be appreciated! Thank you
  2. KAPLAN. It even LOOKS just like the NCLEX. Makes you feel more comfortable going in and worth it. I took mine yesterday and was calmed by seeing it so similar to Kaplan; even the colors are the same! Lots of practice questions too
  3. Can you say an extra prayer for me tonight? I take my exam tomorrow at 2
  4. I take mine on the 10th and I am feeling really nervous too. I'm not necessarily "freaking out" but am nervous...I cant fathom the thought of having to keep studying this hard core. I'm worried I don't know enough :/ argh
  5. congrats!!! I pray I can say that after Wednesday!!
  6. Don't reschedule, face your fears, YOU CAN DO THIS. Everyone has anxiety and no one feels ready, but remember, you got through nursing school! I test in 2 days and feel I want to reschedule, but I wont let myself because I know that whenever I take it- I will be super nervous. WE CAN DO IT!!! I have faith in you, if that counts!
  7. Good luck to those of you who take it tomorrow! I take mine Wednesday but I kinda wish it were tomorrow! I just wanna get it over with so this anxiety can go away. I just took Q7 and got a 62.64% :/ Reviewing it now and tomorrow. Any last minute advice from anyone who passed? I still get questions sometimes where I am like....*** I've NEVER heard of this before. It makes me feel like I dont know enough content! ARGH
  8. I'm with you, my parents say I'm over studying but my anxiety level wont let me stop studying. I'm using kaplan, saunders, pda, and ati. If I don't pass Ill be the most depressed person ever. No way I can continue studying anymore after this!!!
  9. I am taking the Q7 Sunday and test on Wed!!! YIKES
  10. Good to know, thank you!
  11. congrats!!!! I pray I'm as fortunate as you next week!!
  12. I frequently wonder the same thing. I jump from doing Kaplan questions, to ATI questions, to reading Saunder's and doing their questions, and sometimes use Mosby's....argh too many options and I dont know which are best!!
  13. I've heard mixed news on whether or not I need to study EKG strips for the exam. Some say yes, but others say it's considered a "specialty" so it won't be on there. Anyone know for sure?
  14. I just feel like there's not enough time to do it all! But I don't want to push my test date back, I've been out of school since April already! Guess I just gotta suck it up and study hard core from here on out (not like I haven't been doing that already lol) I just want to pass the first time around so badly. My Kaplan scores are as follows, let me know if you think I'm on the right track: Diagnostic: 61.11 Q1: 54.67 Q2: 61.33 Q3: 57 Q4:61.33 Q5:62.67 Q6: 59.5 Q7: Waiting to take before test Readiness: 63.87 My average for the QBank is at 62% and I still have about 100 questions left..... These scores dont make me feel confident. On the Qbanks, I get anywhere from a 46-82, mainly all in the 60's. Taking those last 100 today and then each day will re-take some that I got wrong, and the last few tests that they say are similar to NCLEX, along with the alternate style quiz :/ I just need someone to tell me its possible. I feel like crying a lot lol
  15. I am grateful for your post. I take my exam in about 2 weeks and am starting to panic. I had to do ATI throughout school, and continued to use the questions in my recent studies. I took Kaplan two weeks ago and have gotten through 95% of the Qbank (finishing tomorrow).. My scores on the QT 1-6 are similar to yours, but it makes me nervous! I am saving the 7th for the week before the test. I have been trying to read through Saunders now each day as well for some content review (and the questions at the end of each chapter) but I am worried I wont have time to get through it all (Only on page like 460 out of 1100). I ALSO have the PDA book I am trying to do questions from. I fear I am overdoing it- but I cant being myself to NOT study. I study almost all day long because of my anxiety. I feel the more I do the better off I'll be. Any advice? I'm a worry-wart and a bad test taker :/ HELP!?!?!
  16. Hi all. I will most likely be taking the NCLEX late June/early July and have SO many different types of study material I am a bit overwhelmed. I was hoping some of you could help me as to which to utilize more so than the rest or any thoughts you may have on any of them. These are the materials I have access to for practice questions/reviews: 1.) Saunders (yellow book) 2.) Med Surg Success 3.) Priority, Delegation and Assignment 4.) ATI Review 5.) KAPLAN Review 6.) Mosby's Review I'm not even 1/2 way through ATI exams and I start Kaplan next week. Those 2 alone have a boat-load of questions!
  17. Hi everyone. I am very new to this site, but I have heard such wonderful things. I was hoping someone could help me. I will be taking my NCLEX probably in late June early July and am taking the KAPLAN review the first week of June. Will they teach me how to navigate their website? I am at a loss of where to start. I wanted to start early, however there are so many places to go (Q-bank, diagnostic, lessons, etc). Where do I begin and how do I set myself up for success with a little over a month to go. I feel very overwhelmed (my fault, I took a few weeks to myself after finishing my program in April). So basically, if anyone has advice on using the KAPLAN site before I head to the class, I'd appreciate it! And of course, any advice on preparing that is realistic around a busy lifestyle.
