  1. Everyone has great advice here, please don't let age stop you from pursuing your dreams. Especially at age 23, you are just beginning. My sister recently finished her LPN at age 26, moved up north and is starting her LPN-RN bridge program this Fall. Many of the people whom I took my nursing prereqs with at my community college were 30-40+ and they knew age was just an excuse as well, not any real barrier. How old you are doesn't determine what kind of nurse you will be. You will do great if you set your mind to it
  2. My gpa was 3.85 overall and a 3.77 prereq
  3. Thanks, it's not easy right now but i'll try my best. Good luck.
  4. Checked my email tonight when I got off work and found out I didn't get in. Pretty upset right now since I spent over a month doing the essay and my GPA was good, no other options right now since USF was my only option but I'll get over it eventually. Good luck to everyone in the program..
  5. same here. good luck to you. i have to work in a few minutes, if i don't find out before i go in, i'm going to be anxious all night lol
  6. I keep refreshing SOAR, i'm kinda freaking out right now lol congrats again to those who found out already!
  7. congrats everyone!
  8. it still says committee for me!
  9. congrats @taylordawn!!
  10. me too, but next week is the 3rd week so hang in there. i know we must be close. :)
  11. Amen Cookie!!! lol
  12. thanks @usfgirl, I'm on break at work now and I was checking my email hoping it would be there haha. let's hope for Friday :) good luck everyone
  13. good luck guys!!
  14. Thanks @mely29!
  15. yeah I would be up for carpooling! most students I've talked to who are or were in the program said that carpooling was pretty common. yeah i'm staying optimistic too. no "ifs" allowed here :) lol
  16. I will most likely just make commute as well. I live in Hernando area with my parents and I work with quite a few people that commute to USF as well. It's not too bad of a ride over there.
  17. @ecari me too. keep your fingers crossed :) mine have been crossed since last month lol
  18. @cookie.cruz, your PM's are full so it won't let me reply to your message
  19. Good luck to everyone. I know how crazy it is playing the waiting game! I applied to USF BSN starting this Fall. We won't hear back for another week or two. If I had the opportunity to apply to UF I would have. I live a little too far though. Best of luck and I hope you all get good news!
  20. @rmv08, they update SOAR and they send an email as well
  21. same with me. finding out by next monday would be great
  22. Amen! You are not alone, I promise
  23. That would be great! I really hope that is the case. I'm not sure if more people apply for the fall though or not, so it might take a little longer for us.
  24. Wow, nicely done! You have great GPA's. My cumulative is 3.85 and prereq is 3.77. I had 2 B's and all A's in the prereqs. The essay counts for 40% of your ranking so it's hard to tell for sure. I read in old threads about people applying to USF and one person got in with a 3.3 GPA, so their essay must have been great. I agree with you, the essay is where it all boils down to I think. Not many nursing schools require an essay, so I am glad USF did. I feel like it lets us separate ourselves from the other applicants and allows us to explain ourselves. If I get accepted, I will be bouncing off the walls :) lol I really hope it works out for all of us. Time will only tell! The first week of waiting is down and we have about 2-3 more weeks to go.. hang in there guys!
