Anyone know the best way to become and OR Nurse if you don't have any prior experience? Everywhere I have applied wants experience, but how does one get the initial experience if no one gives them the initial opportunity? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone who got in at Lonestar Montgomery. I just completed my first year in the ADN program so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

If she is going to North Harris the book list is different.

I have lecture and lab Monday and Tuesday so I bought some scrubs to wear outside the clinical set. I just don't like the white shoes.

Bought scrubs clinical and lab today. Do we have to wear white shoes with the lab scrubs?

I bought mine off of Amazon. Prices seemed decent.

For MoCo, I believe they said we would have to get it in September before clinical starts since that is when the new vaccine comes out.

Are scrubs required for lab or just recommended?

I am planning on having them sewn on. I think they said at orientation that the scrubs store knows where they go and it is only a few bucks.

I got my patches at the bookstore today. They were $3 a piece. I got two since I plan on getting two sets of scrubs.

Dumb question but do we get summers off between the two years or is it a continuous program?

I just checked mine and it hasn't changed. It still says compliant and I don't show anything that has been added.

Anyone hear anything on the HIPPA form?

I had my blood drawn this morning and they said I should have the results by next week. Apparently military immunization records aren't able to be used since they don't show the values or have a doctor's signature. It may sound strange since we are all going to nursing school, but does anyone else hate going to the doctor's office? I hate check ups and blood draws, but I really look forward to being the one doing them.

I can't imagine that would be an issue, especially if you have the documentation saying that you can get the booster 7 days after the deadline. I wouldn't worry.
