  1. I PASSED!! I am now and LPN YEAH YEAH!!!! thanks for all your support
  2. I took my nclex-pn today and it cut off at 85 questions. I really don't feel good about it. I had at least 4 or 5 drug questions on drugs I have no clue what they are. Also, a couple of drug dosage questions. All I did was type in the # the question was asking for and nothing else? is that right? for ex. instead of typing "210 ml" I would just type "210". I couldn't remember if we were to type in the units or not so I didn't. Do you remember what we were to do? I did fail, I can tell, I will be one of the few that fails at 85 questions. anyway, thanks for everyone's support, I will let you know how I did when I find out. Kellie
  3. Well, Tomorrow is my Nclex. I drove down to the testing site yesterday just so I knew where to go so I wouldn't get lost on the day of the test. I am SOOOO NERVOUS. I have answered about 1500 questions on the Saunders CD so far. I am still studying today but I am going to stop around 3 pm and just relax the rest of the night. I know there are suggestions to answer at least 3000 questions before the test but I don't think I will get in another 1500 by3 pm. Do you all think I will still do fine? WISH ME LOTS OF LUCK :uhoh21:
  4. I work in a hospital in Central Va, New grad LPN's start at $14.44/hr. New grad RN's start at around $22/hr. Not sure how much experience makes
  5. Hi Amy, good luck with the CNA program. I was a CNA before going to LPN School myself. I found that being a CNA first really helped me a lot with school. as far as working, here in VA, CNA school was only 8 weeks. I didn't work but I did work on a as needed basis as a CNA while in school for my LPN. I only worked every other weekend and sometime that was hard to do if I had a test coming up. Once you start school, you will be able to figure out what you can and cannot do. Are you going to be working at Cookeville hospital? I used to live in Cookeville for 2 years and went to Tech myself (of course this was about 6 years ago and I wasn't into Nursing then) Just neat to see someone from a town that not to many people know of. GOOD LUCK TO YOU Kellie
  6. Thanks, I also have Xanax which I am going to try taking 1/2 a pill to see how it affects me. Hopefully it is enough to relieve my anxiety but not make me sleepy so I can take it the day of the test. Thanks Everyone.
  7. Will it hurt me if I continue to study from the RN book? I take my boards in 1 week and my local Borders does not carry on for the PN. I would have to order it and it won't get here in time. Now I am really worried that I am studying the wrong thing
  8. Hi everyone, I just recently graduated from a LPN program. I am scheduled to take the PN borads next week (Sept. 14). I have purchased the Saunders NCLEX-RN Comprehensive review book and have been studying through that. Is this book still a good book to study by even though it is for RN's? I am really nervous about the borads. I am not sure what area the qeustions will focus on. I am trying to study the areas that I know I am weaker in instead of focusing on the areas I know I am strong in. I have been working as an LPNA at my local hospital which has been helping me a lot with learning Lab values. Anyway, any studying and test taking advice would be helpful. PS. I have SEVERE test anxiety. I have Lexapro to help with my anxiety but have only been taking it for a week. Thanks :uhoh21: OH yeah, I will be taking my boards in VA.
  9. Can anyone help me with these dreadful Nursing Dx. I have to write a paper. I have a 4 year old with UTI. (this is a teaching plan. we have to come up with our own senario for our Nursing Dx) how is this... Infection related to impaired urinary elimination as manifested by client verbalizing "it hurts when I pee", urine of cloudy color with some sediments, fever of 101.2, urinalysis lab results showing elevated white blood cell (WBC) count, and bacturia. Thanks
