  1. I get told this sometimes as well. I’m not bothered by it at all, since I was never the yes ma’am type of individual. I’m usually told this if I’m asking questions or addressing concerns. Many employers like the employee that doesn’t have much to say & goes with the flow. The moment you respectfully voice concerns or have an opinion, then you’re labeled as having a “strong personality”.
  2. I make $35/hr Per Diem in a residential facility in NY, NY. No benefits.
  3. Congrats! I am a pretty recent Grad myself. I graduated in 1/13 & received my license 7/13. I am currently seeking full time employment in any of the 5 boroughs within NY, but it's challenging as a new nurse unless you have connects. I will not give up & hope something comes through soon. Well, I wish you the best of luck in your quest for employment... God Bless!
  4. That's what they say! I did fill out paperwork only to be told that they didn't have anything available, which I believe was a bunch of BS! A week after the man said there was no work they had an ad posted for needing nurses in Jamaica Queens...makes no sense!
  5. I took NCLEX in May of this year & tried the PVT & it told me I could not register again. This was a great sign, however I need something more concrete. In NY you can pay a fee online after 72 hours for unofficial results. Everyone knows that's an extremely long time to be in suspense! I was excited to know that after the long wait, I passed. They also sent a paper with my picture on it from NCLEX verifying this info. I was registered on NURSYS about a month later from my testing date. I received my license about a week after being registered. So good luck to all & it will be coming soon!
  6. Has anyone heard of an agency named: Exclusive Nursing Staff Inc? They are located on New Utrecht Avenue in Brooklyn NY. Just wanted any feedback on if they're a good agency for LPN's or not. Thanks!
  7. I graduated in January myself & just passed my boards in May. I'm finding it extremely hard to find work as well! No one wants the "New Grad"! No one wants to take the time to orient you which is even more frustrating, because I feel like you have to start somewhere. I tried an agency & they made me fill out all this paperwork to then tell me that no work was available at this time. Makes absolutely no sense to me, but I'm going to keep on trying until someone realizes that I have the potential to be a great nurse... Just need someone to take me under their wing & guide me.
  8. *applied*
  9. It is extremely hard! I passed my Boards the first week of May & began applying immediately. The least amount of experience they're accepting in NY, NY is 6 months, but most require 1yr & more. I have applies to almost every nursing home in Brooklyn, NY with no feedback. Resent updated resumes with license info & still no feedback!
  10. Hello everyone! Does anyone know how much Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn NY pay new LPN's?
  11. Oh no! Looks like the Golytely doesn't make you go so lightly after all!
