  1. Hi! I'm currently a quarter two nursing student at Neit and so far so good! The first quarter is pretty much your "introductory" nursing course plus A&P if you need it and some other crap. I start clinicals next week so I'll update you then!
  2. Mean would be reporting someone for no apparent reason. Just sayin "No" would have been an awesome answer or just ignore the email. Geesh...nursing school is enough work without worrying about what every Tom, Dick, and Harry is doing.
  3. Congratulations!! And thanks! Any tips?
  4. Contact your local universities to find out what transfers as well as the maximum credits they'll take from another school. You don't wanna take 3 years of classes just to have only 2 years transfer over. :) Good Luck!!
  5. I started at a community college which is one of the many in my state that have transfer agreements with at least four of the universities here. I did my pre-reqs and transferred without a problem for two separate degree programs, twice in my life. It's a much cheaper alternative than spending all of your time at a university for the SAME classes.
  6. I'll be starting the program in October 2013...can anyone comment on what the first quarter schedule was like? I just need to plan ahead and orientation and registration is basically a week or two before classes start which is not good timing lol
  7. Try opening up your availability on applications. Once you get an interview with a hiring manager you can discuss the hours. A lot of hospitals use screening systems that weed out certain applicants and stating limited availability would probably never land your application where it needs to be (I've worked in HR for quite some time before changing the pace lol). On another note, if you don't need to work then don't stress it but the experience will help out in the long run. I'll be starting my program in the fall and the only reasons I'll be working 32 hours a week at a hospital an hour from my school is because 1) in this job market I would prefer to apply as an internal applicant when the time comes, and 2) tuition reimbursement! Loans help out but paying then back is not something I'm interested in (that's just me). I've also worked two jobs through my first bachelors degree and all of my pre-reqs so I've learned to set priorities. I have a boyfriend that I've been with for 4 years and I'm moving an hour away from him which isn't ideal for me but he's supportive and the truth of the matter is, this is my future...if we're meant to be it'll work out...if not...well...I'm still young ?. Good luck with everything but it seems like you've got a good system...don't beat yourself up over what others want from you.
  8. We've had layoffs then now they tell is they're taking PTO. Go figure
  9. Awesome!! Congrats!!!!
