I'm in Atlanta. I'll check and see what sections I'm in, I don't know off of the top of my head. Do you think all of our books are actually required?

I'm going to be starting the Pediatric Dual Primary/Acute Care Program this fall also! I've been trying to search for others starting this fall, and you are the first I've seen! Have you registered already?

I work in an 84 bed Level IV NICU and our CNA's are involved in a lot. They help stock, set up for admissions, cleaned incubators, and helped out with the front desk area. They also did help with feeding some of our feeder growers who were close to discharge and helped hold NAS babies.

I currently work in Tampa and the base pay is $23-25. I have a few friends who work in Orlando and their base pay is $21-24/hr.

My BSN program started with 40, we graduated with 26 and have had a 100% NCLEX pass rate for the past 8 years.

I start my new position in the NICU next week! How is everything going so far?

I think if you can actually feel a pulse you wouldn't start compressions. If they're unconscious and bradycardic I think you would give atropine.

Thanks for all of the replies! I'm in a new graduate program that rotates to all of the ICUs in the hospital and burn just happens to be my first rotation. Burn is just not for me. I'm not a huge fan of the humongous dressing changes that accompany that unit. NICU has always been at the top of my list and they finally have an opening. STICU also has openings. I guess it's just a matter of me deciding what's best for myself. I just don't want to hop from unit to unit. Again, thank you for all of your replies!

Hey everyone! I need some advice from you guys out there. Im a new nurse with 4 months of Burn ICU experience. I'm currently in a situation where I have a job offer in a Surgical/Trauma ICU or a Neonatal ICU. I'm interested in both. I know ultimately it's my decision in the end, but is there any advice anyone could lend? Those of you in STICU and NICU, what helped to make your decision? Thank you guys so much!

So I recently graduated, passed my NCLEX (yay!), and started my first job as a nurse. I've run into a few people (non-healthcare) who have asked me in these exact words 'So are you going on to become a doctor or are you just nursing it?'. Or I get asked 'why didn't you go on to become a doctor?' I feel like maybe it's just a lack of knowledge about everything nurses actually do, but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not 'just nursing it'. I became a nurse because it's a calling. It's not just some job, it's a skilled profession that not everyone can do. Do any of you get asked this?

Yes It was definitely helpful for me. They had great rationales and mnemonics to help you remember things.

I passed my nclex on 9/3 and I couldn't be happier or more relieved! I would like to thank all of the posters on allnurses because I've been reading their NCLEX discussion posts and using their tips and tricks for remembering things or for different ways to study. It's been a long time coming, and I start my first job on Monday in a critical care residency program in the BICU. By the way, I used Kaplan, Saunders, and the NCLEX Mastery App.

ANHH, I just graduated from the Cocoa program and I had a 78% teas, 3.5 gpa, and a 3.3 pre req, so please don't lose hope!
