I think one of the main differences between this and when AIDS started is that AIDS was new and nobody knew how it spread. I also think it should be up to the healthcare provider if they want to provide care. You don't know if they have kids or anyone to risk spreading the disease too. I would be more worried about spreading the virus to my family and friends.

Working while in school is possible if you are good at time management. I am about to start my third semester of nursing and I worked during the last year. Last semester I took 17 hrs and worked about 25. I would recommend only doing part time and definitely not working the night before clinical. I also would take a day or two off before finals or if I had several tests that week. You're the only one who can tell if it's too much. If your grades start to suffer then I would quit working.
