  1. thanks tinatuna. Let me know if you get a call. I think it's legitimate since I called and asked Kaiser first before I called them back, but it was really off-putting to give them all this personal info. When I tried to get out of giving them some (they want personal contacts, etc), they said that incomplete applications might affect my ability to start with kaiser on my orientation date (kinda threatening). Really weird. I did google them and they seem pretty legit, but again, just don't know why this is the first I've heard of it. If you get the call too, I might feel better about it. I'm driving to Cerritos tomorrow morning to sign my "application" there, so maybe it will make more sense in person...
  2. Okay, did anyone get a call today from someone at SELACO-WIB? Apparently there is a grant for our training that this organization received from the Dept. of Labor in order for Kaiser to offer this new grad program. We have to go in and fill out an application and sign some documents. I did most of mine on the phone and am going in to sign tomorrow. Very confusing and a LOT of personal information needs to be provided. I did confirm with HR that this is part of the process, but I was really uncomfortable with it over the phone.. Wish we would have been told during the process so it was more expected!
  3. So I had my physical and HR meeting today. Wondering if you guys can confirm our first few weeks. As far as I can tell from the "orientation" paperwork we received, we have 3 days of Orientation, then 9 days of Didactic training immediately following (M-F). Then, as far as I can remember from what we were told, our new hire training (with a preceptor) then begins late September (the 23rd?). So we have a couple of weeks off in between? Anyone have any other insight on any of this?
  4. I got a call today to schedule my physical, etc for next Tuesday! Wheel is in motion :-)
  5. I haven't heard anything yet either. Faxed in my background check form and went in for my drug screen. I think I remember that the next step is a physical, but that we would be contacted by HR to schedule that..
  6. I just received the offer letter and all the steps emailed to me a little while ago. Looking forward to working with you both!
  7. That is great RNjamias! Looking forward to meeting you. When did you have your interview? July 1 or 3??
  8. I got a call this afternoon! Hope they are still calling tomorrow hibiscusrn! Would love to start with you :-)
  9. I got an offer today for this position! So excited! Anyone else get any news? I'm dying to find out who is in this cohort with me!!
  10. I'm wondering the same thing. Waiting is torture. Hope to hear something today either way!
  11. Rejection as well. Maybe they are not considering those that have applied to previous cohorts this time around. Bummer... On to the next.
  12. Wow! Their process has really slowed down! I guess because they're on their last group.
  13. Any Cohort 3 or Cohort 4 updates today??
  14. I'm going as well. Have been wondering about the process too... I also read the old threads and it sounds pretty intimidating. I guess we will see. Anyone have any idea about the start date for the program or anything more specific than the fact that it's per-diem, and nights? I emailed the recruiter my questions but haven't heard back. I'm hoping that they will lay out all the details on Wednesday..
  15. Has anyone who applied to the 4th cohort heard anything yet? Anyone get a phone screen this week?
  16. I know, that made me nervous too. Usually they ask you to look over the application before hitting "submit". Luckily I had edited my profile etc. yesterday, so hopefully that is what they received! I thought the July 24th date was kinda odd so I thought it might have been a typo. Got lucky. It went up around 12:30 pm today, and it is still up last I checked. I'm sure the July date threw everyone off. They are only taking 100 applicants for this one, so everyone who usually applies to these must not know yet.. Fingers are crossed!
  17. FYI everyone -- the posting for the 4th cohort went up an hour or so ago. Only taking the first 100 applicants. The original posting said July 24th but I checked today just in case and there it was! Hurry and apply :-)
  18. Wow, that was fast! Are you internal? Wondering how many external new grads will be considered.
  19. I chose Peds/PICU/NICU. Lots of Peds people! Let's hope they have lots of openings :-)
  20. No, and it's killing me! I was so hoping we'd hear something about Cohort #2 decisions today!!
  21. Yes, we were told that the 5/22 interview round was the final one and that decisions would be made within 10 days. Congrats for getting the call back though! They must have definitely seen something they liked since they called you back. Fingers crossed for all of us!
  22. nurse1728 - No, but that is interesting. How far along in the process for Cohort #1 did you get? Also, did they call you in to the final interviews on 5/22, or for a one-on-one interview on a later date? I was kinda wondering if they might have any "overlap" from cohort to cohort if they have candidates that they like but can't fit in. Of course thinking this because I'm wondering what to do on Tuesday when I still haven't gotten a decision on final interviews from Cohort #2, and the app for #3 opens Tuesday morning... what to do? Apply again since I don't know for sure??
  23. I heard 10 days from the front desk, but heard "by Tuesday" from my interviewer. The Tuesday thing makes sense with the way they've been making decisions, and also the fact that the 3rd cohort app opens on Tuesday.. Fingers crossed.
  24. Good luck to both of you! And anyone else who has made it this far :-)
  25. @ alr25 - The application is pretty simple. If you haven't already created a profile on the job website, you can do that ahead of time to save some time when the job is actually posted (it goes away really quickly). If you make it to the phone interview stage and are selected for the first round of in-person interviews, you will put together a portfolio of other things (transcript, reference letters, an essay, etc) for that. No specific units - everyone starts in med-surg (though there are a lot of "med-surg" units). Anyone that had their interviews today - how did you feel about it? I think mine went well, but honestly - these quick, conference room type interviews are so hard to judge! Just have to wait and see, I guess. At least we don't have to wait too long; sounds like we will hear within a week..
