CHOC or CHLA fellowship program 2015
Hello ! I have recently applied for CHOC's fellowship program for 1 year experienced nurses and plan to apply for CHLA's RN transition program. For those who have applied in the past, I was wondering what the hiring process is like. Are there multiple interviews or panel interviews and how long does it take to hear for a response? For those who have also applied for this cohort and are in the same boat as I am, can you please keep me updated if you have heard a response? Thank you in advance !

advice on LA county Sheriff RN exam
good luck everyone that's taken the exam already! My exam is scheduled next week, July 23, 2011. Does anyone have tips on how to study for this? Is there a study guide posted somewhere? Also: Is it a written exam (fill in the blanks/essays) or multiple choice?

I was told we would hear back 1-2 weeks after the interview...but since they're starting the second cohort applications I really hope we hear back before the end of the week (just to lighten their work load )

Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013
CSUEBRNstudent!: I graduated from West Coast University with a BSN (GPA: 3.52). Star2011: I'm not sure. I actually applied to the application at 8am a few days later than it said it was posted. Good luck to everyone who is going to apply today . If it helps, the first posting was titled, "Registered Nurse I - New Grad Residency Program, Nursing Institute." Hopefully this will narrow down the search results!

Mdthenurse: I'm not exactly sure how long mine took. I was scheduled to have my interview at 8 but it actually ENDED at that time...so maybe 15 or 20 minutes I'd guess. SandyMickey: I have no idea. I felt as though I babbled a little too much. I wasn't asked about a time where I broke the rules. She didn't ask me the last two questions on the list. I guess only time will tell how we do but I know this wait is going to feel like forever. I'm not sure about you, but I think the application and interviews are fine but the waiting for answers is really killer! Good luck to you and hopefully we get a chance to work together!

Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013
I've been trying to prepare myself for a panel interview (worst case scenario in my opinion). I figured they might pair us up with a manager from our list of units but I have no idea. I'm really worried about what questions they might be asking. We've already been asked about lasix (like previous years have been). I wonder if they'll have other med questions.

Definitely same boat as you. If only the interview went better than it actually did, I wouldn't be checking my email every hour. no updates yet. :\

I applied for NICU and haven't gotten any sort of interview yet... Has anyone gotten phone interviews or been emailed about scheduling an in person interview?

CHLA RN Residency September 2013
As far as I know, he wasn't an internal candidate or anything. I know he works somewhere in Brea... Perhaps he just misspoke about which hospitals he interviewed with...or maybe he was trying to psych me out. DEFINITELY hope he wasn't (but if he was, it totally worked).

CHLA RN Residency September 2013
Hi Everyone. I'm new to this CHLA 2013 forum. Seeing this definitely eases my worried little heart. I went to an interview on Thursday (for a different hospital) and met another interviewee outside. He explained to me that he had already had a few interviews INCLUDING CHLA last Thursday (4/4). My heart literally shattered when he said that. I thought for SURE that meant they already began the interview process and I just wasn't picked... My application status on the website says it's still being reviewed. Maybe calls will start coming in sooner than later! good luck to everyone. :) PS: I applied for NICU as my number 1 choice with PICU as my 2nd.

Well coming here really helps to make me feel better. I don't feel I did terrible on the interview but at the same time I definitely have no idea if somewhere in my babbling I said something to help me stand out. HAHA truthfully, I went to the interview excited for this. I got there 2 hours early so sat outside and met someone that was so....QUALIFIED and prepared... I'm happy for him because there's no doubt in my mind he will get this position but my self esteem was definitely shot down a bit going in. Just like the rest of you, my heart shattered when they said there was going to be another round of interviews because I thoroughly believed this would be it. The biggest thing that worries me is having to pick a unit of choice. I said NICU (that's definitely a passion) and then explained I'm willing to start off on a med surge then slowly work my way through a mother-baby or ICU unit to that. My interviewer then asked, "but WHICH med surge floor would you like to start off on?" and went through a 1-2 minute list of her just naming units. I had no idea there were other med surge units than just "med surge." I was COMPLETELY overwhelmed but the two that stood out were oncology and pediatrics so I just named those two... I wish I could have just said, "med surge," and let it be done with but... I think that is really going to hurt me moving onto the next step. I don't want to seem so picky...and ESPECIALLY putting Peds (I'm not even PALS certified yet...) Good luck to everyone & hope we all make it.
