  1. I may not be a nurse or have depression...however life always has its challenges. Move on and remember why you are doing what you truly came here to do!
  2. This scares me! Wow...what would you guys say to a new student looking to go for BSN?
  3. I would definitely say financial aide would be no issue...I believe. I figure I might have to wait until 2015 to enter the program I'm thinking it would be better to just take small steps and get my CNA. Thank you for your response...always appreciated. I guess it hits you as you get older you want to move on to new things so fast.
  4. Hey everyone! I've been looking into an LPN program that is offered near me. My question is, how can I make it happen? Right now I'm working two jobs, both of which don't offer reasonable hours. For now, my full time job will be short lived due to the nature of the work. How did you do it? My other option was to take a 2 week CNA class next month, find a job and work and have a steady schedule/get experience. From that point go to school...also considering the Navy but that's just another thought.
  5. I don't know if I have ADD but I'm pretty sure I do! I've not been able to afford to see a physician so I had to power through. I have difficulty focusing, and when I don't get something I freak. Honestly, I feel you need to sit and think about defeating this problem you face no matter how hard it is. Also, if you don't work out...start it helps a lot. Running, biking, going to the gym and eat good food. What medication are you on? I've taken vyvanse my friend had back in high school, makes you really focused! Anyway, keep your head up! Get a tutor!
  6. Hey everyone, I know the best choice is to speak with a recruiter about this, but see what info I can get from you guys. I'm 22 and looking to change my life for the better. Considering my options I want to go back to school for nursing. Right now I'm looking at getting my CNA cert in August to get started in a new direction. On the other hand thinking the Navy... Doing my research, the Navy seems like a great option not only for the amazing benefits but for the experience. Problem is, needing a BSN before even considering going into the military. I will be over 27 before I even get my BSN so what could my options be? I heard someone saying something about joining and utilizing the post 9/11 GI bill to get to school full-time? How does that work? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Being 22 myself, time is of the essence, so true! Ok, I'm going to enroll into a 2 week CNA course for this fall. I have to be smart and realize I don't have a stable job at least until it snows again. I need to take small steps and get many pre-req's out of the way. I'm anxious to get somewhere and I need to relax and realize It's going to take time. I thank you for your help and support!
  8. Thank you, I actually have a 50/50 chance of getting in anyways. I'm going to get my CNA, in my current situation I need to start my career and take small steps to lead me to the success I aspire towards. There's a 2 week class coming up and as I see it the work I'm doing now is very temporary. I want to thank all of you for your input, I'm over analyzing myself too much! Grrr
  9. Carley, I was thinking about this for some time but now I'm thinking... CNA programs cost between $600-$1300 down here and take 2 weeks or 8 weeks. Now taking the extra time to get my lpn, pay is better and I feel the extra time would be worth while. I don't know, what do you think? Also, considering I could get a lot of aide I could use that money towards class instead of cna class.
  10. The way you think will determine your outcome. As babygirl said, there are unlimited resources. Kick some A&P orifice!
  11. Thank you Carley... I send you a hug for awesomeness!
  12. I would like more insight and opinions. Now the community college in CT is offering a PCT program this fall which I would love to take. The question is, already halfway done my A.S. in liberal studies...would it be a better decision to just get into a LPN program? The reason I ask this is because I'm really tired of working jobs that aren't gearing me towards any kind of goal. I'm 22 and if you are like me my mind want's to make the BEST decision...and apparently life isn't like that all the time. I'm at a point where I want to make enough to live on my own and be independent. Now I'm not saying I want to get involved in nursing for just the pay...that would be defeating the purpose of even considering it. So anyways... a 3 month Patient care tech program or LPN and working towards my BSN?
  13. That's awesome....and I'm sorry to hear about your mother and father as well. It's really insane how life can change so fast. We can live now in memory for them!
  14. So are you saying just a 2 year degree isn't going to cut it? I mean it would make more sense getting a B.A...yes?
  15. Stephalump a gus lol could you please help me? $800??? How did you do this? Could you inbox me? or email me? [email protected]
