hi. it depends on the university. i was informed about it by my classmate just days before my flight. luckily, the uni representative responded quickly to my email and i didn't have to pay for the service.

it actually depends. my results were forwarded to Global Health Unit in Sydney just a few days after I had my medical exam.

the university provided a free transportation service from the airport to the accommodation/house. alternatively, you can take the bus from the airport to the train station. not sure how a cab ride costs.

There are other OSHC providers. Here: http://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/en/Study-Costs/OSHC/Overseas-student-health-cover The university has an arrangement with BUPA Australia and this is why OSHC fee was included on top of the tuition fee; it is indicated on the Confirmation of Enrolment. IMHO, while it is convenient for us that the university takes care of this process, the advantage for you is that you have control of which package you're going to take. Perhaps it's gonna be cheaper that way? Let's wait for the feedback of other members. Meanwhile, there was a post somewhere here of a student who is currently taking his BP at IHNA who also availed of BUPA's health insurance.

There are slight differences in the vaccination requirements among schools offering bridging programs. Some require more than one serological evidence. What are the appropriate serological tests for the following: A. MMR -- IgG or IgM; and B. Varicella -- IgG or IgM? I've already contacted Deakin and I'm currently awaiting their response but I'm curious to know if anyone here has an idea on the specific serologies that need to be taken. Any answer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Item #33 of form 157A (Application for Student Visa) asks about the intended date of departure from Australia after completing the course. On page 4 of the same document, it says that the maximum length of student visa for the bridging program is up to one month longer than the duration of the course. To increase the chances of having the visa application processed more quickly, what is the recommended answer for the Date of Departure item? A. A few days after the end of the course; or B. About one month after the end of the course? The advantage of Choice B is that it can give the student ample time to process the registration with NMBA. [Please take note that I have no intention of staying in Australia (or any other country) illegally.]
