New Grad RN looking for a job in CT
Thanks everyone for the help. I did end up getting a job in May as a charge nurse on a rehab floor. I was actually just given a RN supervisor position as well which is nice. I still am looking for something more acute and in my area of interest but this gets a foot in the door right?!! Thanks again everyone!! =)

New Grad RN looking for a job in CT
I graduated with my BSN in December 2012, passed my boards in Feb, and have been applying to jobs literally everyday since I finished nursing school. I haven't been picky about where I have applied to, I am not looking for a dream job at this point, I just need to get the "experience" everyone is looking for.... I have yet to get any interviews, any phone calls, or anything at all.... I have over 300 applications out, I have even tried using contacts that I have formed over the years but nothing seems to be working.... Does anyone have any advice as to where I should be looking or doing differently? Thanks again for any suggestions!

What is a new graduate nurse supposed to do if there aren't any jobs available?
I am literally in the same boat as you.... Graduated in December, passed the NCLEX, applied to at least 3 jobs a day since graduation, and I've heard nothing. It so hard not to get discouraged after working so hard for four years to get a BSN degree that will get me jobs, and not have a single prospect 3 months after graduating. I guess I don't have any advice, I can only sympathize with the situation that you and I and tons of other new grad RNs are dealing with. I wish you the best of luck with your job search! :)
