  1. rollergirl- Thank you for setting that up for us all!!! You’re awesome!!! Sent my request!!
  2. rollergirl- this is the information I have gotten from a former student: You have to clep a course before the semester you are scheduled to take the course. I.E. if you're scheduled to take Mental health in the Spring. You have to CLEP it in the the previous Fall semester. You only have one chance to clep. If you aren't successful; you have to take the course.
  3. JA-NURSE this is the link for the page I got the CLEP information from. Cost is $115 total each. https://www2.registerblast.com/wku
  4. If the price and place I found in is correct then it’s 70ish or $86. I found the CLEP test price when registering for the HESI.
  5. I’m traveling from the Clarksville area! My intention is to CLEP everything I can!
  6. I just spoke with Ms. Teresa and those are our ACCEPTANCE LETTERS!!!!!!! I was wrong and you guys were right and we are awesome!!!!!!!
  7. I will call right now and relay the message!!! Give me 7 minutes!!!
  8. Guys!!!! Wait!!!! This email states “application status is approved” meaning we met the criteria for our applications to even be accepted for viewing!! Also the email states “This acceptance is conditional upon being admitted to Western Kentucky University; cumulative GPA of 2.75, successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology and Developmental Psychology upon entry into the nursing program; active LPN license; and completion of the enclosed documents.” I don’t think this is our accept or denial email!!
  9. Also what books did you guys use for the program? Elsevier, Lippincott, etc.?
  10. For what I’ve read through WKU threads here, I think we’ll know by the end of September maybe. We have to know something by mid October because once accepted we take a LPN to RN Transition course that starts in November.
  11. For the tests - I have had the experience where the exam answers and rationales contraindicate the required course book they were based from. Definitely the kind of questions that cause an over thinker to go severely into overthinking. - Were WKU exams like this? For the assignments - Is it typed research papers and Discussion boards?
  12. Thank you so much Bishop!!! This is the information I needed!!!
  13. Hi guys! How does the CLEP tests work? They can they be done at the time of applying to the program or is it the CLEP to be done per semester? Is there a limit to how many classes you can CLEP out of per semester? Is it possible to CLEP out of a whole semester or more and graduate quicker as opposed to not testing out and completing the 3 full semesters?
  14. You have already found allnurses. To me that says you are serious about becoming a nurse because this website is a humongous support system saturated with knowledge. I found allnurses by mistake years ago and have shared it with anyone who would listen. I have a GED too. I'm finally a LPN at 33yoa and have had to take a class per semester, times I couldn't take a class at all due to high costs of childcare and no online class available, move to a new duty station every 2 years, etc. over a time span of 10 years. Do not let yourself talk yourself out of nursing school and nursing. Every time I thought I should give up God showed me another reason I needed to keep pursuing my goal. Do your prerequisites 1 or 2 at a time per semester if you can. When you get into a nursing program it will be overwhelming in the beginning because it is new to you. Be flexible and accept everthing as it is. The annoying classmate that knows everything, not your problem. Clinical site changed last minute-don't gripe just be there on time. 4 tests in the same week, maybe 2 of them on the same day- study and be awesome! 40 is not too old for school. One of my bosses is in her 70's and attending classes for her MSN right now. The lady has been a nurse for 50 years. She began as a CNA. Anything in life is only as difficult as you allow it to be!! You can do this!!!! Take care friend!!!!
  15. My math this semester is my last pre-req and Micro and Eng II are my last co-reqs. Knocking them out this summer. I don't think there's been any of this that's been my favorite! I have enjoyed the anatomies and math classes though! So if this is the time it takes to sort through the Fall application pool, what does Spring look like I wonder?
  16. Sweet! How many co-reqs do you have left? I'm telling ya, I truly thought this past week was "the week"! I was anticipating the mail every single day and even checked myself one of those days to just get the anxiety over with! Again, this should be "the week"! LOL! :) That would be outstanding if we actually got an email saying yay or nay. But on a sentimental note, I prefer and look foward to the paper version!! Somehow it seems less robotic and impersonal!
  17. IC3 exam tests you out of needing computer class and CIT-105 is now the basic computer requirement class for us.
  18. I haven't applied yet to JCTC yet, I'm waiting for this semester to end so my math and bio will be included. I have to have the Academic Plan paper filled out, ECTC doesn't require it. So, I'll get that done sometime before this month is up! The deadline is 4:00 sharp May 20th! What all do you have left to get into them? Thank you amthom!
