UTA AO BSN Fall 2022
Hi Morgan, I’m also applying for the Fall 2022 semester. Unfortunately, I am not partnered, but will be considered priority since I have finished both Patho and Pharm. I’ve taken the TEAS so I am just waiting for the application to come out on myMav. I wish everyone good luck!

San Antonio College LVN to RN program
Is anyone here attending or has attended SAC or St. Philips College, specifically for the LVN to RN program? Does anyone happen to know if clinicals can be held on the weekends? I am looking for an online course with clinicals either on Saturday or Sunday. Thanks!

Will I Have Trouble Finding A Job?
Hi. I received my license in 2016 and worked as an LVN for 3 months. I’m ready to go back but afraid that I will have trouble finding a job. Do you think I will have trouble securing a position in nursing since it’s been 2 and and half years since I worked as an LVN.

UTA Online BSN Program
Hi anto361. I am currently enrolled at UTA in the prereqs, and I spoke with an advisor last week concerning the BSN program. According to her, 3.75 GPA is competitive, but having a Bachlor's degree will definitely help you. I'd email an advisor to get her advice. Good luck and congratulations on your degree!

Any moms currently in the Accelerated Online BSN Program?
Thought I'd add that I registered today for the Spring 2018 semester. I'm taking Microbiology, Med Term, Contemporary Math and Sociology. I'm excited but know that have a lot ahead of me. Is anyone else taking their pre-reqs?

Any moms currently in the Accelerated Online BSN Program?
Hi! I applied for the Spring 2018 online BSN program, but I'm still working on my pre-reqs. I'm also a mom, but my babies are adults now. I'll probably be the oldest in the class! In my opinion, you're never to old to learn. I'm also an LVN, but this class was the only one that will work for me. I need the online format with clinical on the weekend.

I'm bipolar, can I be a psychiatric nurse?
I have bipolar disorder and I would really like to work in psych. I was planning on starting a thread to get input on whether this would be a good idea, but found this one instead. The comments here have been very helpful. Since I will soon be a new LVN (will be taking the NCLEX in a couple of weeks and hopefully will pass!), I thought my best bet would be working inpatient adult. I am also in my 50's, and have questions regarding if I have what it takes to work the hospital setting. I do eventually want to get my BSN and masters in Psychiatric Nurse Practioner, so im not sure that I should start with inpatient. Any comments would be appreciated.

No confidence in lab skills
Hi everyone, Today was the last day of the first semester of the vn program and I received all A's in my classes. I am concerned though because I really don't feel comfortable at all in my lab skills, and have to repeat them over and over just to get them right. Since clinicals start next week, I am greatly concerned that I don't have the confidence to work with patients. This has caused me to think that I should just drop out of the program. My plan was to get a position in behavioral health as an lvn, then go back to school for my bsn and eventually my msn to become a psychiatric nurse practioner. Do you think I should drop out, or hang in there? Thanks!

Accomadations for bipolar disorder
I'm in school for vocational nursing and am considering asking for accommodations for bipolar disorder. So far I haven't had a problem, but am afraid that as time goes on I might have a problem keeping up with the workload. Do you think this is a good idea?

Transfering into LPN program from RN next month
I can't answer your question about critical thinking, as I'm about to enter an lvn program myself. At least you'll have experience as a nursing student, so I would think that would be a big help for you. I do wish you the best of luck! :)

Hi Cat_Lady83, Your post has brought me hope. I have to participate in TPAPN to be able for licensure due to bipolar disorder. I was afraid that I would have trouble finding a job, but from what you shared I now know that there are facilities that will give you a chance. Thank you so much for sharing! :)

Alternates for fall 2013 SPC nursing program
Hi Jennifer~ I'm sorry that I'm not an alternate, but can you please tell me what SPC stands for? I am applying for the spring semester at St. Philips's College and was wondering if it is the same school you applied to. Thanks!
