Waitlisted 2014 Community Colleges
It definitely is confusing and frustrating. I have absolutely no classes left to take. For the past year I have been just taking classes I would need for my BSN. I even tried BHSN and didn't get accepted. I have no clue as to what I can do better other than taking my Teas over. I will remain positive. Congrats to everyone that did get in. ?

Waitlisted 2014 Community Colleges
I was wait listed at Gateway for the second time. I went and talked to an advisor to double check my GPA and I still have a 3.8 GPA. My Teas is a 70. I honestly do not know how they figure the wait listed numbers. This year I was waitlisted in the 60's out of 175. I wish I knew.

Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014
I just noticed it says that a letter was sent March 2014 of ineligible. But I never got a letter so I am guessing it is really not up yet. I should read it more carefully... just gave myself a mini heart attack!! Lol!!

Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014
I just checked and the link is there and it says that I'm ineligible too and that we will be notified by mail from our first choice. This really sucks.

Admission to BHSON 2014
Kell, I wonder how they choose because I have the same stats as you. I have a 3.8 GPA and 70 on the Teas. Took every class. I only need nursing courses. I have my CPR and I work in the medical field. I really wish they were able to say why someone does not make it into the program. I also took all my pre-reqs at Gateway too. I did apply again to Gateway so I'm waiting to hear. I always remain positive so we shall see what happens. Nursing school is so competitive. Congrats to you and everyone that got in to the program.

Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014
The ineligible letters are going out this week, the week of the 31st. That is what the website says.

guidance needed!!!
Wow. I just looked it up on the DPH website and it is 63%.

guidance needed!!!
I thought St. Vincent's was supposed to be one of the better school's in CT. That's a low NCLEX pass rate. I saw on their website that they require you to maintain no lower than a B-. Most school's require at least a C+.

Lol!! I am sure we all will be looking for that glitch again. ?

Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014
Those are great stats jules. Last year we heard around April 10th or so. I read on the Community College website that they are sending out letters through email the week of March 31st to those that are ineligible. Then a week or so after they are emailing eligible and it will say accepted or waitlisted. I went on the CT-CCNP website and it's under applying and there's a red box with the information.

Applying to GCC and BHSN Fall 2014
I sent my application to BHSN in October and got my denial letter February 24th. This also my second attempt at GCC. I was wait listed too last year. That's awesome on your grades. This could be our year. Fingers crossed!! Good luck!!

Applying to GCC and BHSN Fall 2014
Thanks. I was really bummed getting that letter. Everyone I talked to said I had a good chance with my GPA, but BHSN must use Teas scores or maybe they had a lot of people with 4.0's. The other thing is I have no classes but nursing classes to take. I am going to keep at it. My time will come. I am hoping to get into GCC. We are supposed to hear mid April they said. I'm going to remain positive and hope for the best. Best of luck to you!! ?

Applying to GCC and BHSN Fall 2014
Well I got my letter and I did not get in. I'm pretty bummed about it. I still have a chance with GCC. Getting into nursing school is definitely very hard. I have completed all classes that need to be completed. I have been taking classes towards my BSN in the meantime. My GPA is still a 3.8, my TEAS was not so great though I got a 70. So I'm being positive and hoping for the best. Good luck to everyone that got in and that are still waiting to hear. ?

I also applied to GCC and BHSN. I sent in my application to BHSN in October and my status still says application in review. So it is time to play the waiting game!!! Lol!!!

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
JaRoJoCT: I am glad to hear they want people to succeed. I'm sure nursing school is very overwhelming and maybe that was what you were feeling. I'm sure it was a lot of information to take in. I hope you find the right nursing program that will workout. Best of luck to you.

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
JaRoJoCt: thanks for the information. They said all seats were filled for this year. I'm gonna apply again this November. When you say you gave up your seat was there something wrong with Gateway? I was also going to apply to Bridgeport Hospital.

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
Thanks ORnurseCT for the information on Gateway. I didn't know they left some spots open for students who failed and were being readmitted. I didn't even think of that. So basically there was really not 96 spots for nursing 101 because some of those spots were for readmitted students. Thats probably why the spots filled up so quick and they had those spots waiting for the people to get their letters so they could register. Well there's always next fall. :)

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
I am getting frustrated with this whole wait list thing. It really get's to me that they are saying the classes are full and complete, but they really are not they are just waiting for people to still come in and register for these spots. I just don't get it. If I was called for a spot I would be right there ready to register and get my stuff in order. If you go on mycommnet you can clearly see that there is 21 spots at CC waiting to be registered for, 10 spots at NVCC waiting to be registered for and so on. I understand that these spots are claimed. I just don't get why people wait till the last minute to either register or drop. They tell me at Gateway they have till the first day of class to register and drop. I find that really crazy because people like us are so ready and willing to register and be ready for the first day of class. So basically these spots end up going to waste and noone gets them. I really just don't get it. Ok now that I vented... Lol!! I am just going to look at it as they are done calling people on the waitlists and start the application process all over again.

BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013
What Teas score do you need to get into BHSN? I'm thinking of applying here? Any information would be helpful?

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
Congrats Motosteph you must be so excited. Has anyone else gotten off their waitlist yet? Does anyone know how far Gateway is with their waitlist or even if anyone was chosen off waitlist? I have tried calling and you get no answers, just wondering if anyone else has had any success.

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
We did have to send in transcript showing A&PII was completed and it was due by June 1st. We also had to show proof that if micro and psych were not completed you had to prove that you were registered in the Fall for those classes. I read the letter a few times and also called to clarify what was actually being asked of us in order to remain on the waitlist.
-
CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
The waitlist letter indicated that in order for us to remain on the waitlist we had to have A&PII, micro & psych proven completed in order to remain on the waitlist by June 1st. If not our names are removed from the waitlist. It isn't for the people already excepted, which makes no sense but that's what our letters stated. Maybe it's to be able to shorten the waitlist because they may think most people will not have completed all three of those courses. I'm sure there's a method to their madness. Lol!!

Getting ready to apply: CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2013
I have to agree with Jan. I really don't think the advisors really know anything about getting in the nursing program and what is used in GPA because when they calculated mine they told me I have a 3.8 GPA and they said with my GPA I would have no problem getting in the program. Lol!! Guess what I didn't get in this time I was waitlisted. I have been at this since 2008 and I really think they should have separate advisors just for the students trying to get into nursing program. I refuse to give up on my dream. But if I were you I would just retake the computer class and keep at it. You should never give up on anything that you feel is right!!
