  1. So I've been looking around and where I live to get into a Medical Assistant program is bar none the most frustrating thing I've dealt with =\ no schools seem even remotely close to where I'm at and the ones that are only deal with actual degrees (associates, etc,) but that's when I found St. Augustine's online course. They can be found at http://www.medassistant.org/aboutus.html BUT! I was wondering if anyone knew how legitimate they really were... I mean $600 for the entire course and all online seems like a deal I shall not pass up anytime soon. Any insight would really be appreciated as an online course is about as convenient as it gets!
  2. It somewhat works like that... However it's not so much a he said/she said battle. The state does take complaints VERY seriously (all states, pretty much) but understand that nobody is perfect. They will run audits given a plausible reason and if they find you are intentionally neglecting/abusing residents then the complaint will be carded to your certificate... BUT! :) if they're complaining for the mere fact that they don't like the way your face looks or hate the way you strut those last season stiletto pumps then it's too bad so sad for them. They can deal.
  3. No kidding?!?! Utah'n here and the course I took cost me a whole whopping $350 (but $70 out for the test bringing roughly $420) and the course itself was 1 week long with 10 hour classes each day. It was a crapload of class to swallow no doubt but a week after the class was over I was certified :) we've even had wanderers from our class hail in from California as well! Stayed in a hotel until everything completed :) might be worth looking in to!
  4. Finished mine up today! :) honestly, not bad at all. Just study what they've taught and you're golden.
  5. Last time I checked bed baths involved peri-care so I would give a yes it's a little inappropriate :\
  6. Fields! Which does make nursing all the better! LTC really isn't for everyone. I work over at an assisted living and must say that loss of dignity you feel is what most of a residents feel as well :\ which is some cause for the way they behave. It is hard to deal with it all especially as some reach the ends but the care is really what matters to them in the end :) rewarding? Yeaaaahhhh buddy.
