  1. Patience is a virtue. My fingerprint card did not get to me until 2 months. I remember that it took me 2.5 years of waiting before I was able to leave for Illinois despite the fact I passed CGFNS, TOEFL, TSE and NCLEX. We were the first batch starting 2001 that got granted US green cards right away when we got here in the States. Best of luck to you
  2. First of all, you have to be a Filipino Citizen to have a Philippine Nursing License- that throws you out of the ballpark right there. Im sure you will not try anything drastic. I commend you for your continued BSN education but to give up your citizenship is for different thread.
  3. For me, NLE was harder. The reason being, is there were no available reading materials for reference on taking the exam. If I will have to retake it, Im not sure if I can pass it honestly! Mind you, I finished my BSN in a high standard school, have Masters Degree and Board Certified in 4 specialties- at least here in the US But I have to warn you, NCLEX is a different animal! Its like your comparing apples to oranges. This exam is prepared to make sure your a safe and effective nurse -in an American Point of View! So, the technique in passing is way different from NLE. Good Luck on your future endeavor!
  4. Dear Leslie, Make sure you have the correct form then you can go to NBI office for additional help- for a fee of course. However, if you have friends who work as chief security that does finger printing, they know what to do- even better because you dont have to pay them. They just need to roll your fingers in a particular way like NBI CLEARANCE style. That would be sufficient Good luck
  5. Dear Miss Leslie, Congratulations on choosing Illinois as your state of practice to begin with. Im Filipino myself and when I immigrated, I started in Central Illinois but now live in Chicago. Im sure you know you dont have to take the CGFNS exam because we were the ones that petitioned the state to be a NON-CGFNS state- so that is already done. Next, online you will need to either download forms and fill up the necessary data for the CES requirement which happens to be the CGFNS office as a form of service evaluating your education- Since everyone has BSN over there, good for you! the downloaded forms need to be submitted to your school so they can evaluate credits (units as Filipinos are used to calling it) then YOUR SCHOOL WILL HAVE TO SUBMIT IT DIRECTLY to CGFNS office. also there are forms for licensure so you do the same for PRC and they will have to submit it directly to the same office Hope this helps. Welcome to the Great State of Illinois!
