  1. I like yourself have been out of high school since 2004. I started back in the summer taking two classes at a time because I work full-time and have a husband and 5 year old daughter to care for. It has not been easy to say the less every class that I have worked extra hard to pass I did it with A's and that is the reward that keeps me going everyday. Keep swimming to reach your goals and remember in the end everything you have worked so hard for will show! GOOD LUCK!
  2. Nice post! Not 30 but 27 is pretty close! I am married with a 5 year old daughter I am currently taking English Comp over because it did not transfer with me from my previous schooling I have about 5 more classes to take before I can apply to my nursing program. Good luck to everyone and we can do it!!
  3. I think that getting your LPN would be a great option with such a long wait ahead. Some programs which goes by point systems give extra points to LPNs, CNAs, EMTs, etc. I say go for it!! Good luck
  4. I have a 5 year old and my husband and I want to have another one soon . I am just starting my pre- reqs now so I know I will be in for a long journey but if you have the drive and determination to get through it and see the award at the end then YES, you can do it. As long as you have a good support system and find ways to make it work for both you and your growing family. GOOD LUCK!
  5. I've been out of college for 6 years and have decided to go back I work full time and have a 5 year old so I will be going to school part- time and taking all night classes.. Summer 1 - English 101 Summer 2- Developmental Psych & Sociology 101 Fall - Algebra & A&P I Good Luck !!
  6. Yes princesax11 I'm from The Philadelphia area! Well Bensalem to be exact
  7. Thank you guys so much for responding! I just can't wait to start and finally get to where I need to be. I'm just happy I'm not the only one who feels this way.
  8. Thank you so much for the encouragement ! I am very determined to be a nurse. I wish you luck and nothing but the best
  9. Hello All Nurses! I am new to this site and thought I would start my first post. I am 27 and I have decided to go back to school after 6 years. I am excited to start my journey of becoming a nurse. I have been feeling like I am so old and having such regrets for taking so long to go back to school. My question is to all of you on the journey with me, Does the feeling of being too old, and regrets of not finishing sooner go away once I start college? Thanks for reading and I would love to hear some of your Pre-Nursing Stories
  10. Hey arianna.lee23 !! I live in Northeast Philadelphia currently and some good programs are Manor College, Abington Memorial Dixon School of nursing, Holy Redeemer. Gwyneed Mercy College just to name a few. Most of them are ASN/ADN programs... University of Penn and Thomas Jefferson have great programs for BSN. Hopefully this is help GOOD LUCK!!!
  11. Congrats on making the moves to go back to school! I am applying to a local community college here in pa for summer classes. I have been out of school for almost 7 years :arghh:but I am definitely excited to start back. I'm new to allnurses so I would love to have some new friends to talk to about our journeys to success !
  12. i think it is also where you live at that would determine whether or not you need a BSN over an ADN... Here in Pennsylvania almost all hospitals are only taking NEW nurses with a BSN unless you already worked there as something else or you must be back in school to get your BSN because they are becoming MAGNET hospitals so it is really hard to get in with ADN. Probably would be best you go the extra 2 years because you will be able to decided where you want to go verses taking a job you really don't want. Good Luck with whatever you decide
