  1. I got accepted into CSUSM's FNP and USC's FNP program for Fall 2020. CSUSM is a public school whereas USC is a private university. I need help making a decision. Obv, USC has more prestige but is very costly at 90K+ and CSUSM is comparatively cheaper than USC. Would it matter if I went to CSUSM versus USC. BTW, I did attend CSUSM for my BSN degree. I estimated the cost for attending CSUSM to be around 40-50K. Not sure if it's a good time to be going back to school with this corona virus pandemic. Perhaps, I should wait a year and reapply for school and save more money. Please advise and Thank you.

  3. Thanks! I figured it wouldn't hurt to try again and apply. :)
  4. Hi all, I wanted to write in here because it's been awhile since I have logged on allnurses. About two years ago or so, I had an interview at my dream hospital (UCSD). Unfortunately, I did not get the position. I had gone into a slight depression because of the rejection. At the time, I had two interviews. One at UCSD and at Palomar Medical Center. I chose to work at Palomar because I thought it would give me a better experience and it was much closer to where I lived. Today, I'm working at Palomar on a PCU unit. I love the coworkers and the job! I'm thankful that I chose to work at Palomar but I always wondered if I tried again with UCSD would I have a better chance? I always thought to myself. Never give up on your dreams. So therefore, I am gonna try again and apply to UCSD. :) No matter how many rejections. I'll keep on trying!! :) Just wanted to vent! Hope everyone is having a wonderful evening.
  5. Hey, I just had a question. How soon after your interview did they notify you that you got the job? Do they call you? Or do they send you an email? Just curious. Thanks.
  6. hi lilsurfergirl - apparently, i can't send you a private message but if you could send me your email and I would be glad to answer any questions. thanks. :)
  7. How do you send a Private Message on here? All nurses says it won't let me unless I have posted a certain amount of postings. Would like some insight on a situation I have. Perhaps someone could provide their email address and we could exchange back and forth. :) Thanks.
  8. Hi lilsurfergurl, I just checked the UCSD website and my status still remains the same as "referred to hiring department." My interview isn't till July 2 and I never thought I would get an interview but we shall see how it goes. When is your interview? Good luck to you!
  9. I got a call from the assistant nurse manager for an interview! :)
  10. I just wanted to know. I had applied for a position with UCSD and my job status says, "referred to hiring department 5/30". today is 6/10/13 and I have heard nothing. Should I follow up with HR regarding the availability of the position? I don't want to sound overly desperate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. =)

  13. How was the interview? Did you get the job?!!! UCSD is my dream hospital. I know I won't give up on applying there.
  14. I really want to work at UCSD. Thanks for all the tips. I currently work at a hospital in SD but it's not my dream hospital. I can't complain though. I know someday I'll eventually end up at UCSD. :)
  15. Hi AZ. I would love to work at UCSD. Thanks for your tips. What organizations do you recommend joining?
