  1. I have 3 kids, straight As and barely study. I have a ton of free time to spend with my children and husband. There are girls who study 8 hours a day, 7 days a week and make a 92 on a test. Then there are those of us who study an hour the night before a test and make a 92. I'm not saying we are smarter, we just choose not to kill ourselves. really pay attention in lecture and LISTEN to what the instructor is telling you. dont try to take notes on everything they say because you will miss the overall concept they are trying to get across. Nursing exams are all about critical thinking and looking at the situation as a whole...not memorizing everything you possibly can just to dump it after the exam. Relax and know that people love misery and misery loves company. you.will.be.fine.
  2. Just finished the first semester yesterday. it was a crazy whirlwind experience but I absolutely love it. Before I started there was so much disorganization but once you actually start the program it is wonderful. Its rough at first trying to figure out what the instructors are talking about (portfolios, modules, practicums) but just write everything down, even if you dont know what you are writing, and make friends with other people that look lost and you will all figure it out together! its takes a couple of weeks but eventually it will all make sense and come together. good luck!
  3. Good news! I was told last year that aug 13 would be a definite but there is no way I would even be a backup seat for may. There were too many people ahead of me. Well they just called me Friday and said they have had so many NOT respond lately that they had an open seat for the may class for me. So I have only seven weeks to completely change my life and prepare....so excited! So anyone that's expected to start next year in 2014, be on the watch for a phone call and an email in your pirate account (something I don't check often). You may start earlier than you think!
  4. I applied at both. Pensacola state has a start date of aug this year (13) but haven't received my official letter yet. Uwf only accepts 40/yr so my hopes are not very high with them since I have no volunteer time or awards:(. I've been mothering and working my whole life and uwf seems to accept younger students with lots of extras! Where are you at in the process?
  5. I was told my start date to the rn program would be August 2013 but I haven't heard anything yet. Has anyone else received their letter or know when they will be mailed out?
