Working in Ca, living in another state
No offense meant, I meant it would be interesting to differentiate between people who tried it and "did not have my good fortune," and people who are too afraid to try anything like that and are quick to say it can't be done.

Working in Ca, living in another state
Quick update, i just did my 3 month review. I absolutely love it. i got a room for 945 a 20 minute walk away from the hospital, flight average out to $50 each way, this month was $30 on frontier. the hospital is top notch, the nurses i work with are amazing, and i don't think i'll be able to work anywhere else. they try to bunch my shifts so i do three and then head back to denver. the money is absolutely amazing! 2 hour breaks! if anyone else is thinking about it i say go for it (if you are looking for a cheap room you will likely get one from a fellow nurse but also walking through the medical school their are dozens of rooms for rent in the 900-1000 range). i do want to say that everyone is different, and it seems like it is really easy for people who have never tried it to unload their fears on you and promise you it can't be done, but always try something before giving up on it. Also, thank you everyone for taking the time to provide insight and talk about what to watch out for.

I am going to talk to my manager about going prn, the only issue being health insurance for my son. Are you at ucsf? i found some airbnb shared rooms for $40-$50/nt and airfare is ~$200, so a huge chunk going towards travel.

I'm considering doing it for 6 months and then making a decision, the experience at ucsf will be amazing. I'll post an update then. Thank you for your replies.

I live in Denver, the plan is to fly in and out. I've seen a few airbnb's but i don't know of any other options as far as only having a place to stay three nights a week.

Working in Ca, living in another state
Hi all, So i've been offered a dream staff position in an ICU at UCSF but my family can't move yet. I am considering flying in for my three shifts and then flying home. Is anyone else doing this currently or previously and do you have any advice? Thank you

Applying to UC - Denver for Spring 2014 UCAN Program
its way more expensive too, about $30,000 more than CU and you need health care ethics and two religious studies classes before the program begins, Regis charges $1500 for the ethics class i am glad i got into Regis but if i have the option to i will pick CU. just for the financial part. i'll pay regis deposit and wait and hope i got into CU, $350 isn't much in the bigger picture

Regis University CHOICE progam 2013
I just noticed that, I think the only choice would be to take Regis ethics class and online religious studies at red rocks to be ready to start the choice program in the fall

it won't let me message you, if you message me your email i'll send you mine but the interview went pretty well i think. it was short, i think i was out in about 10 minutes, how long was yours? they kept writing which was pretty distracting. i don't know..i'm pretty nervous since it was my first, but two heart wrenching weeks. how did yours go? their were two of us at 12:30 and they came and got the girl and someone else came and got me, i think we were the last ones. i wonder if they scheduled us randomly they asked me: why i wanted to be a nurse describe one situation where i dealt with an angry person what have i done to prepare for the next two years what should they remember about me
